This model the flying wing is pretty quick and easy to assemble. According to the author, it will take only a couple of nights to assemble it in a leisurely assembly mode. The model flies well and is slightly sensitive to gusts of wind up to 4 meters per second. Another unique model is that it knows how to plan. Model manufacturing process:
Step one. Markup
You will have to draw from scratch, but do not be scared, because everything is very simple here. First of all, it is necessary to cut 3-5 mm from the edges of the sheet, thereby we will remove the rounded edges, which are not needed for homemade work. Next, you need to mark the lower wing trim, as seen in the photo. It is also necessary to take out and cut out the marking for the installation of the side members.
In order not to re-mark the skin, the finished part can be attached to the ceiling and circled with a pen. But there is a likelihood that the manufactured part will be larger in size.
Step Two Strengthen the wing
Next, two strips must be cut from the ceiling, their width is 2 cm. These strips are then glued to the extreme part of the wing, as can be seen in the photo. There should be 4 strips in total, that is, you need to glue in two layers on each side. Thus, the author strengthens the forehead of the wing. When the glue dries, the wings need to grind to a "mustache". At first, this is done rough with the help of an office knife. Then you need to align everything with sandpaper.
Step Three Side members
First, the spars need to be marked, the dimensions are indicated in the picture. Well, then cut with a ruler and a clerical knife. Spars can be made both single-layer and two-layer; for great strength, the author chose the latter option.
The spars must be glued to the lower casing of the consoles, and then there is a marking of the rear of the wing for sewing on the "mustache".
Step Four Upper skin
The upper skin is done exactly the same as the lower one, but it is larger in size. To make it easier to glue the skin to the side members, it should be bent.
Step Five The final stage of assembly
A feature of the assembly of this model is that gluing should begin not from the forehead, but exclusively from the trailing edge of the wing. After assembly, the parts must be leveled with a clerical knife and thoroughly treated with sandpaper to a smooth state. Subsequently, the consoles stick together. The result should be a finished wing.
Now you need to make install on the elevon wing. Also, in conclusion, you need to make "Winglets" and install them to the end parts of the wing.
As for electronics, then each installs it in its own way. The author has made for these purposes a special box placed under the wing.
To mount the servos you will need a piece of PVC plastic (suitable for SIM cards). They are attached to the wing with a thin double-sided tape.
The center of gravity of the model is placed at a distance of 135 mm from the trailing edge. That's all, now the model is ready for testing. Have a nice flight.
