DIY concrete mixer from a 200 liter barrel

Any construction, as a rule, involves the implementation of a number of works using cement mortar. Concreting is especially relevant for owners of country houses who are in a state of "permanent" repair and ennoblement of the surrounding area. The use of concrete in this case is in demand everywhere: when filling garden paths, and when installing from walkways, and when erecting a fence.

In view of such an acute need for cement mortar, the required amount of which is determined by the scale of the work being carried out, many builders personally mix concrete mixtures or prefer to purchase it ready-made. This, of course, is very convenient, although sometimes not entirely rational, because the cost of cement mortar is quite high, and it is often required not so much. In addition, it is far from always possible to take advantage of professional services for the production of concrete and its transportation to the work site.

Independently mixing the solution will be much more justified from an economic point of view - it will cost an order of magnitude cheaper and, importantly, it will not require significant time costs. With sufficient patience and some effort, you can make concrete by hand, but it’s better to buy (rent) a quality concrete mixer for this purpose or design a concrete mixer do it yourself.

A barrel of 200 l was used, an electric motor at 250W / 1430 revolutions. 220V A Ural motorcycle wheel was taken, the middle part was cut out, 2 rings welded together, the resulting pulley was welded to the bottom of the barrel. Frame - 59 pipe, channel and 2 belts.

Firewood count for that wood stove, also on such a gearbox. Works fine.
Now I "mastered" a winch for plowing the garden, based on the same gearbox.
Purely on the shaft. The rigidity of such gearboxes allows this. While working without problems. Yes, and in stock I still have such a gearbox. But I don’t really like the barrel itself, I wanted to redo everything. But all hands do not reach, and it works.
But I didn’t make it homemade from a barrel. With the "bulb".)))) For a long time it was ... And now there is a purchase, and okay ....
... And your “Pear” has nothing to rely on? Only sitting on the shaft? Purely due to ngo rigidity?
Or didn’t I understand something from the photo?
No, he won’t slip precisely because of the enormous gear ratio - remember how the drive is organized in the automatic washing machine .... It’s clear that it’s easier there, but it’s got big speed and a ribbed belt, and then it’s tapered .. .
I solved this issue a little differently in the manufacture of the concrete mixer. By the way, this knot is the most moody and is usually not made belt. Especially in one belt
This is my “mixer”, I’ve done it for a long time and is now working. Single phase power
Yes Valery, a small pulley that rotates the drum pulley (rim). Regarding the first shaft, it is driven and driven, it will be he who will get the main load of rotation. This bothers me.
Are you talking about? "primary" or "secondary"? (Although, the "secondary" - is already leading, actually ...))))
Yes, no, it should be enough - on it the effort is weak - the "second stage" has a huge gear ratio ....
An interesting solution with a rim, but the driven pulley is embarrassing. Very small diameter, can easily slip, the tank is not "frail".
