Homemade portable sawdust furnace

Homemade will be useful for those who have access to sawdust. These can be various wood processing enterprises located nearby. Or, perhaps, sawdust accumulate in someone in their own workshop. Sawdust is an excellent fuel, moreover, it is light and compact, which makes this type of fuel one of the most popular for hiking trips.

The article will consider an example of creating a small furnace that runs on sawdust. With it, you can cook or reheat food, taking it with you on a hike. If there is a desire, then homemade work can be "increased" for use for other purposes, for example, for heating.

Materials and tools for creating a furnace:
- can with a wide lid;
- sawdust;
- polypropylene pipe (or other cylindrical object;
- pliers;
- steel wire;
- a piece of tin;
- scissors (for cutting tin).

Furnace manufacturing process:

Step one. Furnace body
The furnace itself has a very simple design and is manufactured very quickly. The bottom line is that a hole is made in the bottom of the can. Thanks to this hole, air will flow into the furnace, as a result of which the sawdust will burn. The larger the hole, the faster the fuel will burn. If you try a little, homemade can be equipped with a small damper mounted on the basement. So it will be possible to regulate the intensity of combustion.

The diameter of the hole the author makes about 20 mm.

Step Two Fill the stove with fuel
Now you need to put sawdust in the oven. For these purposes, you need a cylindrical rod, in diameter it should be more than the diameter of the hole drilled in the bottom of the can. A piece of polypropylene pipe or other similar item will do. The pipe is installed in such a way that it covers the hole at the bottom.

Now you need to pour sawdust into the jar and tamp them well. If they are poorly packed, the fuel will burn out too quickly, and you simply will not have time to cook anything. Then the pipe can be removed.If everything is done correctly and the sawdust is tightly packed, the hole from the pipe should remain in the furnace. That's all, the furnace is almost ready, it remains only to make and install additional elements.

Step Three The final stage of assembly
If you just put the jar on the ground, the air will not be able to enter under it. In this regard, you need to make a special stand. It is made very simply, for these purposes you will need a piece of steel wire and pliers. The segment must be bent so that a triangle forms. To connect the ends, the author used a piece of tin, which he circled around the wire. Now you just need to bend the vertices of the triangle at the same angle. After that, the oven stand will be ready.

For cooking, you will also need a grill, because if you put the dishes directly on the jar, it will be difficult to smoke out of it, which will worsen the combustion process. You can make the lattice yourself from the same wire or find a finished one.

According to the author, using such a homemade product is most convenient in tandem.

The experiments showed that the furnace works perfectly and copes with its task. It is only important to understand that the remnants of burning sawdust can fall through the lower part. In this regard, you can not put the stove on such surfaces that can catch fire or melt. You can install it on the ground or sand.

The boys ran to the sawmill in the bunker, climb up, grab a couple of bags. And this hour is hard to find.
Then it’s already easier to buy ready-made pellets and to heat the pellet boiler, as everyone is doing now)))) Sawdust is free now, with the advent and spread of this technology you will not find it during the day with fire.
And before yes. Such, only large and with a chimney, the furnace was heated in our hangar. One charge (4 bags) for the whole working day was enough.
And you can also make fuel briquettes from sawdust, straw, etc. and drown them. True press is needed.
