Those who use the multimeter know how inconvenient to measure the readings of small radio components, power supplies, etc. With one hand you need to hold the part, and the other two probes, which constantly strive to shift. Author first homemade I wanted to buy a ready-made probe with adjustment, but a big price, for such device forced to think about making it yourself.
Tools and materials:
Compass and two needles to it;
-Two wires;
-Heat-shrink tubing;
-Glue;
-Clips;
-Soldering iron;
-Construction hair dryer.
First you need to disassemble the compass. It is not necessary to disassemble as the author, it is enough to remove the clips from the bottom of the compass and separate the legs.
Then the author glued the lower plastic legs of the compass to the main part. Having fixed with clamps, the glue dried up.
To two wires, of different colors, soldered on a needle.
I inserted the needles into the compasses, I extended the wires as indicated in the photographs.
I put a heat shrink tube on the leg of the compass. Heated the tube with a hairdryer.
I soldered the clamps to the free ends of the wires. The probe is ready.
Clips, a homemade probe, the author connects to the probes of the multimeter.
