DIY Spice Magnetic Panel

This homemade It will be useful to anyone for whom cooking is not just a necessity. Everyone who takes cooking seriously takes into account the importance of spices in dishes. In order that all spices and spices could be easily found and conveniently stored, the author decided to make a magnetic panel.

To create a magnetic shelf for storing spices spices needed the following materials:

-metal jars with a transparent lid with a volume of about 120 ml
Neodymium magnets 6x1.5mm in size
- a large sheet of paper
epoxy resin
toothpicks
- paper for mixing epoxy components
100 grit sandpaper
wet paper towel
-device for creating stickers
-tweezers.

The author gleaned the idea of creating a magnetic panel for spices from various shelves that are sold in stores. Having considered it, it became clear that making such a shelf would not only be cheaper, but also more convenient due to the fact that there is no limit on the number of containers for spices, which the author has a really large number of.

Description of the manufacture of a magnetic panel for storing spices and spices:

Step one: Preparing the jars.

After all the necessary materials for creating the shelf were purchased, the author proceeded to the preparation of the components.
And it was decided to start with the preparation of containers in which spices and spices will be stored.

For this, the jars were cleaned without fail. The back surface of each metal can was cleaned with sandpaper. This was done so that the surface of the can was less smooth and the epoxy resin more easily stuck to the bottom of the can, this will be needed in the next step. Then the treated jars should be wiped well with a damp towel to clean them of dust. After the cans have dried, you can stick to the next step.

Step Two: Adhesive Magnets.

In order for the jars to be attached to the metal panel, several neodymium magnets must be glued to the back wall of each can. The number of magnets depends on the capacity of your can, in this case, three magnets were enough for each of them.

For gluing magnets to the cans, a mixture of epoxy resin was used, which was squeezed onto a piece of paper, mixed with a toothpick, with the tip of which subsequently drops of epoxy were applied to the back wall of the cans. Then, using a pair of tweezers, a magnet is taken and glued to one of the drops of epoxy applied to the jar.

After gluing all the magnets, the cans should be left for 24 hours to completely harden the epoxy.

Step Three: Signing the jars.

Just in case, it is better to mark the jars so as not to mix up the spices. For this, a special device for applying labels was used.

Step Four: Finished Spice Panel

The resulting cans with various seasonings can be placed on any vertical metal surface. That is, you can attach a small sheet of metal to the wall and hang a jar on it, or attach metal strips to the inner walls of the kitchen cabinet, or you can use a magnetic board. In this case, the author decided to use the upper door of the refrigerator for fixing. The attraction due to the magnets is strong enough so that the cans do not move when closing and opening the door, while they fit up to 80 pieces, which is very convenient.
