As it was said above, the float made by the author has the function of opening during biting, yes this is true, but it turns out all because of the direct design of this float consisting of two equal cone-shaped halves. The resulting halves are fastened together by a loop of copper wire coated with an insulator, then they give a bright reflective color to the halves, here each fisherman must choose a color that he likes best so to speak :) And then through the loop with cambric a free-line fishing line is passed with the installation of a depth gauge. After the work, the author performs preliminary tests in a container of water, please note that the float must be strictly below the water level - this is necessary so that the float does not freeze while in the water position, without observing this rule you will wait a long time for a bite from a frozen buoy: )
And so now we should proceed directly to the consideration of the author. The first thing that the master does is cut off the piece he needs in size from a piece of polystyrene.
Then the workpiece is given a conical shape and marking is applied for further separation into 2 equal parts.
Further, the author divided the case into 2 parts, the place of the cut was carefully processed with sandpaper.
Makes an insulated wire loop for installation in the lower part of the halves of the float.
First, a small hole is made with an awl, then the loop is coated with waterproof glue and only then inserted into the lower part of the case, the same thing is done with the other half.
After the action, the obtained rings are interconnected by a loop with a cambric, on which later a fishing line with a depth gauge will be inserted.
Further, the author performs preliminary tests and debugging, the float is placed in a container of water and the weight of the weight is primarily regulated, because the float must strictly be below the water level, this measure prevents the float from freezing if it were on the surface of the water. As you can see in the photo, the float is slightly flooded and the halves have a slightly open shape, here again, each fisherman must fit this product for himself.
After successfully conducted tests :) the author immediately proceeds to paint his brainchild, the master uses bright colors since they will be better visible under water, for this he uses naturally reflective paints, the author also warns that you should first make sure that this paint or the varnish is harmless to polystyrene and will not corrode it.
After painting and drying the product, the master imitates a bite to lift in a container of water.
Everything works fine, the author was satisfied with his homemade work, and the master also saved again :) As already mentioned above, this float is suitable for ice float lovers on such fish as bream, hodgepiper, and roach.
