Mousetrap "self-loading" based on a car gearbox from the "wipers"

blush
I wanted to talk about my "invention" of 1969. The occasion was the topic of "manual winch".

In the named year in the winter there were a lot of mice, I have never seen so much again. They were everywhere, in the field (walking "snow" in the snow) sweeping away everything in its path (hay, straw, grass, crops). In the buildings they were "teeming", sharpening everything that was possible. From shoes to food. They did it brazenly, day and night. Cats hid from them.

All kinds of poisons were eaten with a bang, a hundred corpses (who managed to eat). In their place, new "tenants" arrived. There was no point fighting ordinary mousetraps. They "worked", not having time to deliver.

And then the idea of a "always-ready" mousetrap was born. That would not charge it every time, after the mouse is caught.

The electric gearbox from the car wipers, with a contact group for one revolution, was taken as the basis. With a short start, the gearbox shaft makes one revolution and stops (which was necessary in this design).

The basis was taken alum. a pan, made a hole in the center of the bottom of the pan and screwed the janitor (using the standard mount of the janitor). On the span of the janitor a “shutter” was fixed in the form of a rectangle in the dimensions of the perimeter-diameter of the pan. This flap freely rotated with the axis of the gearbox, inside the pan. When stopping, dividing the volume of the pan in half (two sectors, two "rooms").

In one of the "rooms" of the pan at the bottom, cut a hole for the mouse (mink). The hole should be cut near the edge of the rotating partition. So that at the beginning of the rotation movement, the partition would "cut off" (overlap) the "mink, leaving the mouse away.

When making this hole, consider the direction of movement (rotation) of the shutter (curtain). In the figure, I think you will understand how and what?

The "work" of the mousetrap. The mouse penetrates the hole, on the opposite side. damper "weighs" the bait. The mouse rushes to the bait, moving away from the mink retreat. Near the bait on the base (plywood, wood), a starting device is installed. In my case, there were sensitive electro-contacts covered with a light membrane. Now you can improve it. Approaching the bait, the mouse clicks on the contacts that turn on the relay (remove the load), the relay turns on the gear motor for a short time. The reducer begins to rotate the partition (shutter, curtain), first of all, cutting off the waste to the animal.

The job is done, but where is the mouse? To do this, on a suitable-sized sheet of plywood (board), I set our pan (upside down), drew around the perimeter (circle) and clearly divided the circle in half. one sector of the circle cut out (made a hole). It will serve as a magila for the mouse. In the other half of the sector, I established working contacts for launching a mousetrap. I put the whole structure on a suitable container (I had a narrow zinc bucket).

The mousetrap worked, the partition turned, cut off the mouse and "stalked" it into the slotted sector. The job is done, and the installation has returned to its original position and is waiting for a new “victim”,

You can power the installation from the battery or a suitable source. I had a battery, the consumption is almost zero, it lasts a long time (months). How could I have made a drawing and found the remains of a mousetrap, or rather a photo taken much later.

Such an installation can catch as many as I like, I managed to catch up to 200 individuals (almost a full bucket). You can take any capacity, a barrel for example, and increasing the size of the device with the same success to catch rats.

I did it fast, so I'm sorry for the "aesthetics."

Good luck everyone.
