There were several reasons for writing this post. Bad weather (rain, nothing to do in the yard). Support the local auto industry. Share thoughts on this type of activity. Publication (recently) of a greenhouse-greenhouse, its "equipment.
And so to the point ...
They talk a lot about the benefits of compost pits, but personally I have no friends who have them. Although they also do not deny that the thing is useful. For a long time he himself did this, put everything there that could overtake. As a result, two years later, he opened the "burial ground" and could not pull away the received "good". Scourges of potatoes and tomatoes, like ropes twisted the whole compost. In short abandoned this venture.
For some time now he returned to this venture (like a plow). So "slowly", in parallel with other works, began to design a crusher-grinder for all "rotting" waste. Starting from table waste, to scraps of branches. That is, to lay the crushed material in the pit, to obtain high-quality compost. Made last year, the photos will be collective, but everything will be clear.
How it all began, in the photo in the corner (highlighted) the first blanks of the future grinder. This is a photo of the blanks for the winch, which we have already "vigorously" discussed.
Examples of choppers in the internet "sea", each has its own advantages and disadvantages. I settled on a drum-type grinder, with three cutting knives. He took knives from a planer. Photo of a drum (like mine) but from an Internet, I didn’t take my own photo.
True, the attachment of knives is somewhat different. More successful.
Set shaft, electric motor. My location and arrangement of the insert (a different angle) is slightly different. But here you can fantasize.
Naturally, it was required to “enclose” the structure.
Photos from the site "Do it yourself", maybe someone saw.
And so it is done with me.
"Collect" in a container, then pour into a compost heap. Here is the result. This is yesterday, from the table. There everything and fish waste (cooked fish jelly), and all sorts of cleaning, and watermelon rinds, in general, everything that rots.
In summer, I crush the grass from the weeding of the garden, put the ground mass of the spouse under the plants. It helps to keep moisture, protects plants from "peel". It is also a kind of fertilizer, natural.
The heap is filled, rotting quietly for himself, checking in the fall (picking a layer), a lot of dung worms damp (even typed in a bucket for winter fishing). So the process is proceeding normally. In summer, on occasion, I spill compost with water. Like everything, I will answer questions if they arise.
The result in the cellar ... This is the wife, her merit. I just have a snack.
