It so happens that from time to time we are visited by different ideas, and at this moment I want to sit down and make something do it yourself. A kind of unusual contraption that would be one of a kind. This is not about some large and complex project, but about some kind of refinement, a fashion that can be made by spending a minimum of time and effort in a couple of evenings. So that you can, then just sit down and enjoy your work.
The author came up with a certain subject-revision, from the words of which, everything turned out not so simple. And now in detail about everything.

Over a long period of time, a lot of different radio components have accumulated, including computer ones, namely: old processors, which, in fact, no one needed a long time ago, but as always it became a pity to throw them away, and my hand didn’t raise it , because at one time they stood a lot of money, and therefore, with the words: "maybe come in handy", it was decided to leave them. They lay around idle for a very long time, simply covered in dust, until that unusual idea came to their head.

In this work, the author acquired Chinese speaking Rolexes in one of the stores for approximately 120 rubles.
Unfortunately, by a miracle of hours, the native instruction was lost, which slightly complicated the task in the future, but this is not about that.

Well, let's get started!
We disassemble the clock into its components. Be careful with small details such as cogs, etc.

To be honest, I regretted that I had not bought another second pair of the same hours, since there was a high probability that these would break.

He put all the small details in a separate box, and removed the side, so as not to accidentally lose.
Everything except the main building is not yet useful to us.

I don’t want to describe much about the processing of the case of this clandestine company, due to the fact that it is unlikely that you will find exactly the same model, or simply decide to buy another one that you like more.

Initially, I wanted to buy a watch with a dial, but unfortunately, none of them came up, since most of the clocks had too much movement.

Now you need to conduct a small operation - refinement. We take the case and on the emery we cut off the ears to which the strap was attached. It is necessary to make the round shape.

Something like a “puck” came out. Of course, I wanted to remove my own inscriptions on the case, but I could not think of how to do it carefully.

Now we need to take the processor, in which we will drill a small through hole. First, a specialized drill for glass was taken, and then it turned out what happened - the percent cracked. The main thing is that he did not break down immediately, but after much torment, because he did not want to drill. With a small load, when I pressed a little harder, this happened. But the fact is that the processor case was made of solid metal ceramics, in order to drill something in such material, we use diamond drills. It is also taken by an emery with a green corundum disk.

I didn’t get upset because of the broken processor, I decided to use the Intel Celeron with a textolite case also available in my stock.
Everything went smoothly. Now you need to drill holes around the circumference. And at the end, just knock out the processor crystals.

Now, for a second, put up what would happen to a Russian person if he saw this article about ten years ago. When similar processors were priced around $ 300-400. It would probably be very funny and shocking. Okay, let's not get hung up on this. We take and process the edge with a file.

It should be noted that the processing of this hole is a very important part. The watch case must sit tight and with minimal effort on it. Holding on to a hole made by yourself. I didn’t want to fix the watch mechanism in another way, and so it looked decent. Since everything depended on this watch design. You can come up with another type of fastener.

When the internal mechanism was fixed, the thought came of what could be done with a split processor. It was decided to put a reset button in the middle of it. On the emery machine, selections are made for the button.

In order to glue debris qualitatively, we need some device, namely, a grinding plate on which there are threaded holes. Everything is depicted in detail in the photo. The line is installed in the strut, which performs the clamping function. And so on, let's get ready a bit - try on pieces of the processor. Now you need to degrease the surface, and then everything is glued with epoxy. If necessary, remove excess by wiping with an alcohol solution. The glued joint turned out to be very successful. His outstretched arm is not visible. A similar operation can be carried out without the above method, just wrap the processor with threads, that is, fix it. But, in this case, it will not be possible to remove the excess resin and it will not be quite beautiful. Since after drying, the epoxy resin is practically not erased.

And now we take the button and put it in the drilled hole, and gradually we approach the assembly of the structure. Namely, to soldering several processors. You will need: a soldering iron, good vision, and a regular angle, so that the entire complex structural part in the end result is smooth on all sides. We take powerful protsiki and put them on a level surface, while carefully soldering one to the other one by one. It is best to start from the sides. We solder one leg on each side. At that moment when the whole structure is assembled, and we align it with the angular fixture, we additionally grab it in several more places on each side. Next we fix the front part. This is perhaps the most nasty part, since the percent did not want to become flush with other parties. They did not give angular vertical legs. Just remove them and so on.

I don’t know how lucky you are, but the author had to torment himself for an hour with the front panel. In order to establish the desired gap helped the usual piece of thin paper placed between them.

And in the end we put the last part of the processor. We solder everything through the front hole. Everything is elementary here. So a pretty interesting cube came out.

Now it's time to install the whole e parts. We take it and add the mechanism. We put an electronic board, a scarf and so on. As you probably already guessed from the photo, all the wiring will have to be lengthened, and the unit with the buttons should be brought out.

The treasured button, which is located on top, serves to ensure that the clock speaks when pressed, and under the other three we had to solder a small board. The wires are displayed externally through a small opening between the processors.

I had to suffer for a very long time with these buttons, because I did not know where to attach them. After two hours of my thoughts and all kinds of crazy ideas I was born, a good idea was satisfied. Buttons set under the cooler. Why not?! It is removed quite easily, and often do not have to adjust the time. And the appearance is very personal.

Take a cooler. And glue it in its place. Next, there is a board with buttons in the middle of the structure, so in this way they will practically not be visible.

Something went wrong, the cooler did not immediately fall into place, the buttons interfered. I had to break them out of the motor cover. Next, we take and glue the fan to the lid with hot glue. And cheers! Everything worked out. Next, we glue the legs, check all the buttons one by one, whether they work at all, sing the piezo speaker, the so-called tweeter to one of the internal walls of the processor, or you can come up with another method of fastening, but the main thing is that it does not hang out.


That’s probably all.

Modern watches are finally ready.

And, of course, in the end I would like to give a couple of good tips. On the surface of the processors there may be traces of any interaction with the metal that are not wiped off. So be careful and avoid this.

And a little idea for revision. You can install several LEDs in the design, which will give the design a more interesting look. Since I started, I want to throw a couple of ideas on what can be done with unnecessary processors. These are music speakers, various types of stationery stands, or just hang on the keys. In general, much and much more.
