Today, almost every one of us has a usb drive on which we store the information we need. For their frequent appearance, they are not much different from each other, the usual unsightly plastic cases. There are of course more interesting options, but they are much more expensive.
The author of this article offers us to make an unusual and original case. do it yourself in steampunk style.
For this we need
Tool:

- Dremel (drill).
Materials:
- brass tubes;
- plates of copper and silver.
- usb drive;
- brass wire;
- silver solder;
- epoxy resin;
- decorative rock.
The main three elements of which we will make the body.
To begin with, we will analyze the USB flash drive that makes up the usb, we don’t need a plastic case, we only need the inside.
Next, take a brass tube, and cut it into two parts according to size. One part will be the body, and the smaller part will be the cap of the flash drive.
Next, you need to modify the shape of the tube, use a torch and a hammer. It should be the same as in the photo
Then we take a copper plate and cut out small rectangular parts from it, they should be slightly larger than the circumference of the brass tube, there will be four such elements in total. Now you need to take two plates and make a hole in the inside.
We take the finished plates of copper and solder one to the body, and the second to the cap.
Now that the plates are firmly fixed, remove the excess protruding parts and make them flush with the body and cap. Then we clean and grind everything. Then, on the back of the case, you need to make one shallow recess, in the future we will solder a small silver element there.
Next, take a small piece of a brass plate and make an oval from it, this part should be smaller than the oval of the case.
Then we solder it to a small piece of a copper plate, cut off the excess and clean it. Check, it should go tight.For work, you need two such blanks.
Next, we take a brass body and make a small hole in the place where the LED is located. We cut one small ring from a copper tube, it will serve as a frame for decorative stone, solder to the body.
Now you need to slightly expand the hole for the stone.
Decorate the body and cover.
We will need a brass wire and a silver plate. Take a small piece of brass wire, bend it and solder it to the body.
Next, decorate the cap. We make a small pen in the upper part, so that the flash drive can be hung up on something if desired. We solder small silver elements on the back of the case, this is necessary so that the case does not oxidize during accidental contact with the body and does not leave traces.
Next, place the decorative stone in its place, fix it with glue.
In order to give the case a look of an old thing, we process it with a special oxidizing agent. Next, we lubricate the case with epoxy resin, after drying we rub the surface, this will be an additional protection against external factors.
Now it remains to do the most important thing - put the usb board inside the case. Before this, fill the casing with a syringe with epoxy. Thus, it is finally fixed in the inner part.
The updated flash drive is ready, we use it, and surprise everyone around it.
