The cold is in full swing and it would not hurt to feed our smaller brothers. As the author made a feeder with a dispenser, we consider this article.
Tools and materials:
-2 liter juice box;
-Plastic;
-Stapik;
-Wire;
-Knife;
-Roulette;
-Pliers;
-Awl;
Step One: Feeder
As you may have guessed, the author made a feeder out of the box. To do this, measured 6 cm from the top of the box. Cut off the upper part. We don’t throw out the cut-off part, it will still come in handy.
Next, cut out the walls of the bottom of the box box. In this case, a couple of centimeters must be retreated from the bottom.
And dividing the box diagonally from the line also retreat down. At the top of the windows, so as not to flood, you need to make visors. Everything is perfectly visible in the photo.
Step Two: Dispenser
The dispenser must be made of a smooth and stiff material. The author used plastic for this purpose. First I cut the plastic to the width of the box. Then in the lower part I made a small cutout, leaving “legs” on the sides.
Feed will come into the box through this cutout. Therefore, depending on the feed, it is necessary to make a cut. If you make it very large, a lot of food will spill out, too small, the food will get stuck.
Step Three: Mount
Further, the author makes a mount on which the feeder will be held. Having departed from the top 2 cm, he applies a glazing bead to the box and makes an awl with two punctures, above and below. Then he stretches the wire and twists it around the glazing bead. The ends are bent down. The same operation is done on the other side of the box.
Step Four: Perch
Turns the box over and fastens the straps from below as in the photo. Birds will sit on these planks. Whatever pigeons sit on them, the author recommends not protruding beyond the edges by more than 3 cm.
Now it remains to fix the feeder, pour the feed and close the cut part from above.
