Today, the article will describe a method of manufacturing a drawer on casters, which can be used to store linen, or to collect children's toys. This design to collect under the force of everyone, for this you need to have a desire, and a set of the right tool.
To make a box on casters, we need the following:
Instruments:
- ruler;
- roulette;
- a pencil;
- Sander;
- screwdriver;
- electric jigsaw;
- a circular saw;
- roller.
Materials:
- soil;
- brushes;
- cuvette (do not be alarmed, this is the name of the soil tray);
- wheels without a rotary mechanism (4 pieces);
- self-tapping screws with a press washer (30 mm, 24 × 40 mm);
- drills (diameter 2 and 3 mm);
- a square sheet of plywood measuring 1525 × 1525 × 10 mm.
Let's start making the box.
We shave the prepared sheet of plywood, on which we mark the five basic elements of the box.
- 2 rectangular walls measuring 75 * 60 cm;
- 2 rectangular side walls 40 * 75 cm in size;
- bottom size 40 * 60 cm.
According to these sizes we produce plywood cuts.
Next, on the side walls of 40 * 75 cm, we mark out future handles, first make two holes using a special crown, we select their diameter at our discretion. Then, using a jigsaw, we connect the holes together, follow the example in the photo. After the holes for the handles are ready, we clean the sharp edge with a grinder or sandpaper.
Now we take the bottom of the box and fasten four wheels to it. We use wheels without a turning mechanism. Next, we assemble all the parts in a single design, to fix the parts between each other, we use self-tapping screws.
When the structure is assembled, we grind the surface, then cover it with a primer, apply it with a roller. After the primer dries, we again grind it so that the surface is smooth, like glass, we use an orbital grinder.
The box on wheels is ready, and can be used for its intended purpose. If desired, you can paint it in any color you like, or burn an interesting ornament on it, or you can simply varnish it, you decide.
