Concrete base garland lamp

Dear visitors of the site, from the material presented by the author, you will learn how to independently make an unusual and futuristic lamp with the help of a garland and concrete. It sounds, a little strange and unusual, to use concrete for the manufacture of a lighting device, but restless "designers" know their job.

And so, let's look in more detail and in all details, how the author made this lamp and what did he need for this?

Materials
1. cement
2. sand
3. water
4. foil
5. thin tin sheet
6. hot glue
7. jump
8. electrical tape
9. foam
10. garland
11. glass cylindrical vase
12. felt
13. wires

Instruments
1. glue gun
2. metal scissors
3. stationery knife
4. marker

The process of manufacturing a lamp on a concrete base do it yourself.
The first step is to create a mold for pouring cement mortar into it, and in order to lighten the weight, the base must be made hollow. The master makes a cylinder out of foam rubber.
On a thin tin sheet makes markup, for subsequent gluing of the tape.
A sheet with a marking is placed inside a glass vase so that the sheet takes on the dimensions of a cylinder.
Then the tape is glued to the internal marking.
That's actually what happens.
Next, you need to make the bottom of the mold, for which the author takes a sheet of thick foil or metal. applies markup.
Using hot-melt adhesive, it glues the workpieces, inside the center exactly the center is a cylinder made of foam rubber, it will create a cavity in the concrete base.
A solution of sand and cement is prepared in a ratio of 1: 3 and poured into the prepared form.
Next, you should leave the mold alone for several days so that the cement adheres and hardens. Then, making sure that everything is frozen, the master proceeds to disassemble the form.
Irregularities formed during the molding process can be easily removed with sandpaper.
Then the master makes a hole exactly in the center of the base, and in order not to dust, uses a vacuum cleaner.
Also, the hole is drilled from the side, in order to pass a wire into it, to connect the garland to the electrical network.
Next, the wire is pulled through.
The author has installed such a socket for connecting a plug.
A plywood lid is made on the bottom.
They sort of figured out the base) Then the master proceeds to create the tree itself, and he makes it from a simple dry branch (hardwood), removing all unnecessary and adjusting the size of the vase. The resulting tree should be painted with black paint from a spray can.
After that, the branch is installed in the hole prepared for it, and a garland is placed in a glass vase.
A vase is put on top on a concrete base.
Tests are underway, just look what a beauty!
Here is such a wonderful lamp turned out by the author.

But still, the gray color of the cement does not look very good, but if the dye pigment were added during the preparation of the solution, the effect would be completely different.

Good day people. I really liked the project. I’ll surely bring it to life. Someone tell me how you can save it?
but you can take white cement and white quartz sand .... Or instead of sand - grated marble. and add mica ....
