In this article we will consider how to make a folding swing.

Step One: Making Ribs
For ribs, the author used 8 mm plywood. According to the pattern, I cut six ribs of ellipsoidal shape. I fixed them together with adhesive tape and sawed them in the middle. It turned out 12 ribs.
At a distance of 3 cm, from the semicircular side, drills holes. It makes a cutout on one edge. It connects the ribs together. Folds the ribs with the straight side to each other. Imposes a belt on the edges and secures it with a stapler. Such an operation produces with all ribs.
Stretches the rope into the holes. Before each hole knits a knot (starts with a rib with a cut). The distance between the nodes is 7 cm. On the last piece of rope makes two nodes with the same gap. This piece will go into the notch of the first rib.
Velcro fastens at the top of the ribs.
Step Two: The Central Part
She cuts two circles of 12 cm in diameter from plywood. Screws a wooden sleeve between them, its length is equal to the width of the rib. Drills four holes in circles (around the sleeve). Stretches the rope into the holes. Wraps the bushing with a rope.
Step Three: Seat
For seat uses foam rubber covered with fabric. From the edge to the center of the seat, the author made a cut. In the center is a hole. Below secured the second half of the Velcro.
Step Four: Lock and Washer
The author made the latch out of plywood. Holes and slots made as in the photograph.
To throw a rope onto a tree branch, the author made a ring. He wrapped a metal washer with a rope, making a loop on one side.

Such a swing can be hung in the garden or taken with you on a picnic.
