Hello dear readers.
Today, this article will describe a method of manufacturing a display cabinet. It will be interesting to those who collect, that is, having such a table, you can put your precious exhibits in a protected and well-viewed place, and if possible you can show your treasures to everyone around.
When making this table, you need to decide on its size, that is, you need to build on how big your collection is. In the case of the author, these were plastic military models. The scale was selected 1:35.
We will need the following.
Instruments:
- drill (screwdriver);
- confirmation drill;
- angular ruler;
- a pencil;
- roulette;
- hexagon;
- hammer;
- a special template for marking;
- Forstner drill 15 mm.
The showcase table will consist of four adjustable supports, with a height of 710 mm, a diameter of 60 mm and a box made of chipboard, which will be covered with glass.
Model was created in the PRO100 program, which can be downloaded from this
The author provides a detailed table with the dimensions of all the details.
Name of accessories.
According to the given sizes, we order a chipboard cut.
When the material is ready, you can assemble. We take a special template with which we mark the side walls of the box. Then we drill holes for an eccentric coupler.
Now we make holes in the mating side for the cam shaft using a 5 mm drill.
Next, we fix the details among themselves, check all the gaps.
In a similar way, we fix minifixes on the reverse side.
On the opposite side of the box we make holes and screw in the confirmations.
The bottom of the box is also fixed with the confirmations, after making a hole under them.
Next, we take screws 3.5 x 16, with which we fix the four table supports.
Inside the box in the upper part we install glass holders with suction cups.
The final stage.
We take our collection and place it in the order that you like best. Next, you need to take a glass prepared and cut to size in advance and cover it with your treasures.
A little recommendation.
It is advisable to set the table-case so that direct sunlight does not fall on it, since the exhibits that are under the glass may lose their natural appearance from exposure to the sun, namely, burn out and fade.
