Our author has long been engaged in the manufacture of steampunk attributes and other very interesting and unique gizmos. The main work is carried out on a lathe, as well as a lot of soldering and tinning, so the work is very complex and painstaking, requiring accuracy and special care.

The process of creating a "vertical roller lighter" do it yourself.As already mentioned above, this type of lighter is quite rare and is made mainly as gift and collectible.
But this is even better, because the very goal of our master is to create a unique thing that no one has and it will be quite difficult to repeat it.
And so, the author began work on the product precisely from the manufacture of the drum itself, which will be set in motion with the thumb.
For what a thick brass bar was taken, cut to the given dimensions, after which it was rolled on a machine and a notch was made.
Next, the master prepared the lower and upper parts of the support for the roller.
The upper part of the support simultaneously serves as a channel for attaching the spring.
From the brass sheet, the master cuts the workpiece for the body, folds and solders to the PIC, having previously irradiated the edges. The bottom was also cut and soldered.
After that, an aperture in which the tube was inserted was cut in the housing, it will serve as a support for mounting the roller. Soldering.
Excess was cut with a mini grinder.
I made the top cover of the case, a couple of drops of solder.

Then the author proceeds to create a spring, and he took it from an old "Zippo"

Further, the master proceeds to manufacture the rocker of the cap, for which he used thick metal from a soldier's badge.

After which the author proceeds to decorate the lighter body with a coin, namely Polish money with the image of the ship. It is very difficult to bend a coin in the shape of the case and in order to facilitate the task. the master grinds a coin up to 0.7 mm on a lathe.
Next, the coin elegantly fits the shape of the case and is soldered to the PIC.
All parts are carefully polished before assembly.
The gasket is made of gas-oil-resistant rubber under the filler cap.
Everything is assembled in a single design, after which the master conducts the first tests.

According to the tradition established among the masters, detailed photos of the finished product were made.
A few days later, the author repeated this
model, but already a little in a modified form and with another wonderful pattern of a steam locomotive.
That's actually such a beautiful and unique lighter that our master got, which in our time is not badly evaluated, because manual labor is always held in high esteem.
