The original and functional mat-organizer was invented and manufactured by the author. The master wanted to make a compact folding organizer for tools. Consider what came of it.
Tools and materials:
-Leaf MDF 3mm;
-The cloth;
-Nails;
- Velcro tape;
-Glue;
-Drill;
-Porolon 40 * 80 cm;
-Drilling machine;
-Chisel;
-Double sided tape;
-Scissors;
-Brush;
-Vise;
-Hooks;
-Knife;
Step One: Template
First, the author makes a template for drilling holes. The diameter of the holes is 12 mm, the distance between them is 2.5 cm.
Step Two: Strips
From MDF, the author cuts strips 40 cm long and 2.5 cm wide.
Using a template, drills holes in strips. Link to .
Cleans holes. Lays strips to each other and fastens them with tape.
Step Three: Cloth
On the glued MDF-panel cuts the fabric in such a way that it would be possible to wrap the edges.
On the planks, from the opposite side from the adhesive tape, the fabric applies glue. Glues fabric to planks. Removes tape.
Glues the edges of the fabric. Cuts along the edges of the folds one layer of fabric.
Step Four: Holes
Using a hot nail, makes holes in the fabric over the entire area.
Step Five: Foam
The next step is sticking foam. Cuts the edges of the foam.
Step Six: Mounts
Fastens hooks over the entire area of the mat to secure the tool. Fastens Velcro tape.
It remains to place the tool on the mat and check its functionality.
As you can see from the photos, the organizer mat turned out to be convenient and practical. In my opinion, it would be nice to add another carry handle.
