I had a burnt-out Diagnostic Adapter ELM327 lying around and I decided to make an additional power supply out of it for the car navigator as everything constantly pops out of the cigarette lighter on the go.

We remove the motherboard by breaking off.

Here is such a converter, I, too, was lying around. It has two outputs 5V 3A.

We insert it inside and solder the plus to the 16th leg and the minus to the 5th leg.

We insert the converter into the diagnostic connector and connect our gadgets.

Explain to me, in addition to HBS, in the car there is nowhere else 12 Volts, chtoli ??? Why should I stick a connector in an inconvenient place under the wheel ?? (But it is precisely there, basically, that it is located) ....
In the old car, in which there is no regular USB yet, for example, I hid a powerful adapter, bought on Ali in the panel behind the radio, and simply cut several USB connectors into the plug in place of the regular navigation screen (which still does not work for us). I turn on the adapter through the key switch - it’s not always convenient when the USB is dependent on the ignition, and leaving it on always is insecure ... I turn on the phone, the navigator and the tablet, etc. ....
And I have a cigarette lighter - for lighting ...))))) ... And HBS - for diagnosis ...))))
