The master already had experience in creating such a technique and had a ready-made moped available, and this masterpiece was created on its basis.
The frame is extended under the bicycle wheels, a tank, a headlight and a seat from the Minsk-103 motorcycle are installed. Step-by-step instructions for creating a moped from a Friendship chainsaw do it yourself.As already mentioned above, the author already had experience in manufacturing a moped with an engine from a chainsaw, but the design was not so successful, and the maximum speed was about 35 km / h, the appearance also wished for the best. The author calls his brainchild affectionately "Stool"))
I wanted to create something more interesting and practical, and outwardly it looked like a real moped or chopper, so that on this technique it would not be embarrassing to ride down the street, but rather to catch smiles and enthusiastic looks of passers-by) This one was taken as an example and basis bobber
After that, a sketch was drawn up on a piece of paper with an ordinary ballpoint pen, I painted everything that needs to be radically changed and added.
From the old frame there was a lower part welded from a professional pipe, bicycle wheels and rear, front forks were added to the new design. For the first day of work, the author welded a frame, installed a tank, headlight, wheels.
All details were naturally old and even rare, so the welds had to be cleaned, and then the prepared surface was painted in several layers with periodic drying with spray paint, the craftsman used Montana paint.
Also, after painting, when the frame dried up, another layer of matte varnish was applied, also from a spray can.
The bicycle wheels were also old, it was also decided to paint them, first, with a masking tape, the rim was glued and the wheel spokes were painted.
The wheels were also painted and suspended on a rope to dry out faster.
He assembled all the painted parts in a single design and that's what happened.
Next, I installed the Druzhba chainsaw engine from my old moped, since the lower part of the frame was taken from the old model, the engine stood up as a native.
But after working for several days, the engine unfortunately died, because it was also very ancient and its natural time probably came to go for parts and re-melting.
The engine was good, but had to part with it.
In its place, I installed a new engine from the same Druzhba chainsaw, only newer than the 1992 release, it was in store from the winter, and now it was his finest hour)
But then the author was faced with the problem of overheating of the motor, after 20 minutes of operation, the engine overheated and, as a result, simply stalled.
As the saying goes "Oh trouble, trouble, chagrin" What to do? First of all, the author changed the gear ratio on a chain gear consisting of bicycle sprockets and a chain.
It didn’t help much, so the reason is not that. And then the idea came up to make water cooling the chainsaw engine. But how to bring it to life? In general, the author does the following, namely, takes a plastic bottle and connects 2 hoses to it, one at the top for air intake, and the second at the bottom for supplying water through a dropper to the cylinder head of the Druzhba chainsaw engine. This kind of drip irrigation)) But according to the author, the engine stopped warming at high revs and feels great.
