Bicycle, LEDs, flashlight?

O all-knowing men! I made myself a stand-alone flashlight is great. I ride, pontyu, not overjoyed. The engine is 12 volts, the xenon lamp (or maybe a halogen one, who knows) on ... I generally don’t remember how much the bulb is, but definitely more than 12 and less than 13.5 volts.
Only I have one sadness. It is poorly visible, it shines poorly. I heard that there are such cool, bright things, they call them LEDs. They are overseas, hawks in the nearest store. But how can I solder them then nnada? Need some kind of radiators? How many LEDs do I need?

Bottle ... Happiness ... Somewhere I already heard it ... Bulbulator?

But who knows where he dug up this, or maybe there were 11.5. Took in an electronics store

Valery,
But who knows where he dug up this, or maybe there were 11.5. Took in an electronics store
Better insert a crumpled plastic bottle into the rear fork, 100% more happiness yahoo

Or they simply shunt the diode with a resistor (but in this case the meaning of using a diode disappears - such a lamp draws as much current as an ordinary one)

It doesn’t completely disappear: firstly, the service life is increased, secondly, the total resistance of a diode lamp with a shunt is any greater than the resistance of a standard lamp (the computer must have a margin guaranteeing the absence of false positives), thirdly, there is no inrush when turned on, although this is a trifle.
Which confirms the correctness of the written. )))
Ivan_Pokhmelev,
While I wrote, you wrote about the same.)))) Even about efficiency ...)))))

And about the halogens ...)))
And a physics teacher with a Trudovik told me that the motor will generate as many volts as the maximum voltage

They forgot to add that this is at the same speed as indicated in the engine rating ....)))) ...
I’m singing it with "folk words":
After all, if you apply not 12, but 6, for example, then it will also spin, only slower, right? ... So it will produce the same six (taking into account its efficiency, of course), if it turn slowly ...
... And we don’t have to talk about any stable revolutions in the bicycle at all - and here’s the chance to “walk” in the same way.
And why am I here a couple of times Om cursing bonfire ....)))) Loaded with a relatively high power incandescent lamp circuit is more or less stabilized - a weak motor "will not pull" to generate a high voltage. (The lamp is loved for large voltages / currents. But the diode, which has a very low resistance, the circuit will not load, and it’s easy to jump there oh-oh-oh-oh! ... (I remembered something about the “trick” for the on-board computer! Because of the low resistance in modern machines, computers “see” diode lamps as an open circuit and “panic” .. Therefore, in some lamps, manufacturers put “dummies” to “tear away the computer’s voices. Or simply bypass the diode resistor (but in this case the meaning of using a diode disappears - such the lamp draws as much current as a normal one)

11 volt halogen lamp

Are there such people?
A reversible electric machine will generate voltage if used as a generator. But which one? Suppose that the rated voltage of the electric motor is 12 V, while in terms of its characteristics it produces N rpm. If this ED is untwisted to N rpm, it will produce a voltage slightly less than 12 V, based on the efficiency in this mode. The efficiency of electric motors is very high, but still not 100%.
Valery correctly advises to charge the intermediate battery, it is better from all sides. And in order not to damage the battery, it is necessary to limit the voltage on it. The simplest option is a powerful zener diode. Based on the generator power, it can be either something from D815 (I don’t remember the letter), or an analog on a powerful transistor. There may be an option with disconnecting the battery of the generator when the voltage is exceeded.
11 volt halogen lamp

And where is such a search? Are there cars with such an on-board voltage? ))))

I remember exactly that the 11-volt halogen lamp burned out during the first test. And a physics teacher with a Trudovik told me that the motor will generate as many volts as the maximum voltage
Cyril, try to measure at least the voltage at "normal" wheel speeds.
But in general ... I’ll take my advice about the car lamp back - because of Ohm’s damning law, you’ll overwhelm a bunch of diodes ...))) (There’s almost no resistance there! The “shunt” will disappear, and voltage fluctuations will take on a tremendous scale .)
Better think about a “classic” circuit for such cases - the generator charges the battery from which the lamp is lit.
He wants to say that he has a 12-volt motor in the role of a generator .... An electric machine, as a rule, is universal ...)))))
... But, the fact that he is a “12-volt” in the role of a motor does not mean at all that he produces 12 volts as a generator at these speeds. And therefore, it is not clear why the "xenon-halogen" bulb shines poorly - from a lack of voltage, or from a lack of current ... (Rather, it is both. There is also such a load as Ohm’s laws))) )))))) ... And therefore it is impossible to understand what parameters of the lamp he needs ..
Definitely - to buy, since you even distinguish the motor from the generator.

I can only see what is written on it this weekend. The only data that is: 12 volt motor
Cyril 517,
Buy a ready-made car LED lamp. It is arranged for the desired base and the diode (s) is adapted to a voltage of 12 volts. "CANBUS" (a blende for an on-board computer) you do not need, so the lamp will not be very expensive.
Just for starters, you need to determine the power .... The fact that the existing lamp is not xenon stopudovo, I already realized ...)))) There aren’t there, I think, the bicycle’s ignition blocks)))) But if it is halogen - then it’s only with the headlight, and its power is 55 watts ... Something, I doubt that some kind of motor will swing such a mosh ...
What is written on it?

Duralumin ... Star ... Will it be easier for me to buy two 6-volt LED flashlights and solder them through a rectifier? The motor gives direct current, maximum 12 volts
Is there a metal insert (duralumin) in the case? On which the LED plate (star name.) Will rely. A circuit like this (usually for today) - the LED on the star, is powered from the battery through the bottom. driver. The battery is powered by a cycle generator. If there is alternating current, then add a rectifier (and a limiter). Another good reflector for the LED

Ready flashlight? Or a ready-made bike light?
Author
I did it, the case is normal. I need the recipe for a regular 12 volt LED flashlight. And with protection from the fact that sometimes the wheel rotates back
I made myself a stand-alone flashlight

Or = bought a flashlight (?)
Do you have a lathe (or access to turning)? To make a radiator case. If not, then you need to take the finished bike Lantern on Ali. With built-in (or added) buffer buffer.
You - definitely need to buy a finished product.
