Do it yourself do-it-yourself steam boiler

In order to make home-made strong drinks high-quality, with excellent taste and organoleptic properties, it is necessary to have expensive distillation apparatuses satisfied. But if you cannot afford the purchase of expensive equipment, then you can modify a simple moonshine still with a proven and really working device, the so-called dry steamer.

What is a steamer in a moonshine

A sukhoparnik is needed in order to separate the so-called "fusel oils" from moonshine during distillation. Due to fusel oils, the final product noticeably spoils, they affect the taste and smell, and they are also very harmful, so if you want to get a really good product, you just need to make a steamer! Below I drew the working principle of a sucker.

What will be needed to assemble a sukhoparnik

The list of necessary parts is not long, you can buy them at any plumbing store, they are not very expensive. We will need:
  • Glass jar of 1 liter or more, with screw cap
  • Two rubber pads with a diameter of 20 mm
  • Four bronze transitional futorki
  • Two steel or copper washers with a diameter of 20 mm

You need to pick up the shoes so that one would be able to twist into the other and between them it would be possible to insert a washer and a rubber gasket.

In general, our task is to twist two futorki with a gasket in the holes of the lid.

Making a steamer

So, now for more details. First you need to drill two holes in the lid of the can, I drilled the 14th drill. The holes with the smallest diameter should be easily inserted into these holes. After the holes are made, be sure to strip the edges so that there are no chipping and the surface is smooth.

Now take the photo, put on the washer and insert it into the hole. Washers are needed so that our fittings are held tight and, more simply, that they do not fidget! )

Then we take another foot and wind it with a gasket on the one that was inserted into the hole, as shown in the photo, well, and tightly twist them together.

Repeat the same with another hole. In the end, you should get something like this:

Sukhoparnik is ready to use! Be sure to twist all the connections as tight as possible so that during distillation there is nothing missing.Firstly, you can lose some of the vapor, respectively, to obtain a smaller volume of the finished product, and alcohol vapors are very easily ignited, be careful.

How to connect a steamer

Everything is very simple, on the lid of the can we have two threads with a diameter of 20 mm. To one thread, you need to connect the output from the distillation cube, the other, connect to the coolers. During distillation, vapors will first go to the can, and then to the cooler. Vapors of fusel oils are much heavier than alcohol, so they will accumulate in the bank with sediment. Everything is very simple. Almost all the connections on the moonshine still have input and output threads with a diameter of exactly 20 mm, so connecting a sucker should not be a big deal!

But if you still have any difficulties with connecting, and any other questions, leave comments, I will be happy to answer them! That’s all, thank you for your attention. Device working, I recommend to assemble, do not regret it!

called "invented the bike" :)
with errors)
Just add: to bend, fill the pipe with sand and cork the ends, then it does not break, but bends evenly. (maybe you were in the know).

In general, there is such an Alambik apparatus, so it is completely made of copper and costs a lot of money, and the quality of the product after distillation remains one of the highest! And copper after each distillation is washed with a solution of citric acid, the main thing is to take care of the metal and then everything will be fine!))

I don’t know, even after the 20th time, it doesn’t poison me under the lid;
Who bothers to put, and then change additional gaskets under the cover?
The trouble with these sukhoparnikov is that after several hauls they begin to poison from under the lid. A similar option is good if you make a circle of stainless steel and a fitting attached to it. And fasten the circle to the bank with clamps. There are videos in YouTube ... I’ve made such a steam guy myself a couple of times, both times they died. The last of the working options with greater reliability is the lid for rolling. But it’s difficult to drain there and you won’t be able to use it as a flavoring bubbler
Now I want (I want and want everything))) to assemble an electric “souvenir” small apparatus made of stainless steel at the heating elements and Peltier elements. In order to get a liter of brandy out of grape wine, which I always have in large quantities in my "men's paradise," during "men's gatherings" with friends, and then use it ... blush good .... Something is ready, but all the time is gone. So, in it I provided two dry steamers - one large (for filtering) and a small one to lay oak bark, thyme, bison and other herbs to saturate the steam there ... This will not be a sucker, in the full sense of the word, since it is made of a stainless steel thermos so that nothing condenses and the steam does not cool.
In general, the effectiveness is extremely doubtful ...
Dmitry, you are wrong !!! I fully agree with the User
kavinskiy! Sukhoparnik NEEDED.
... In the very, very beginning of the 90s, in the era of a terrible mess, I had such a “business”: I bought diesel fuel from tractor drivers for moonshine and took it to Poland. Moonshine was first bought, and then decided to assemble the unit - I needed about 10 liters every day. As usual, came up creatively good . I gathered information to analyze the optimal device. (Then there was no internet)))). And at one craftsman I saw a steamer. To create it, I bought a specially designed can of very expensive imported cucumbers))))). (It cost (900 gr) as four three-liter domestic, while the cucumbers to taste were bad, worse than ours)))). But there is nothing to be done - we didn’t have cans of “twist-offs” then ... I remember ....)))
So ... Braga - 30 liters of water, 7 kg of sugar and 7 packs of yeast. From this came out about 10 liters of the “product” of the fortress 41-42 degrees and about seven hundred grams (!!!!) of fusel oils in a lean steam!
They were a thick liquid with concentrated "moonshine vonism" (not oily.). At the same time, the concentration was strong - once he doused his hand, pouring out, so no washing, with soap, or even gasoline, helped to get rid of the smell. The hand smelled of moonshine for about a week !!!.
It tastes very acidic, without the presence of alcohol (licked))))
... I didn’t drink it myself, but they praised my moonshine very much, and the main emphasis was not smelly, and (most importantly) there wasn’t a terrible “moonshine badun” in the morning. I think it was in the sucker that the "stinky ingredients" remained, which, moreover, gave poisoning ("badoon", in fact - this is food poisoning)

It is very difficult to assemble such a device from glass)) if only the factory is found somewhere. You can take silicone gaskets, they are exactly in the photo, yes, there will be a little oxidation on the copper account, but they are washed with steam, if you take off the heads, then the oxides will remain there.
everything would be fine, but here the copper washers will give oxidation, and the rubber gaskets will probably add some, it would be the norm all the same but completely made of glass, then yes.
In this case, it should not be liquid, but oil)) And what you are talking about is most likely ordinary water. Well, maybe with some fusel oil content.

When you insert cotton into a pipe, it also blackens, but this does not mean that all fusel oils settle on it. It’s better then to collect some kind of large filter from cotton wool. True, it will be one-time.

Of course, it is better to make the incoming tube longer, but this is not important and it does not really affect the performance. And at the expense of doubts, I will not agree with you, after driving 30 liters of mash, an oily liquid accumulates in a sucker, about a half liter, with a very unpleasant odor and it does not have a degree. The effectiveness of the steamer has long been proven!
It is more reasonable to make the incoming tube long and the outgoing short. In general, the effectiveness is extremely doubtful ... It is better to freeze the moonshine, but drain the alcohol.
