Thin Metal Hot Smokehouse

Dear site visitors, from the master class presented by the author, you will learn how to independently make a hot smoked smokehouse from roofing metal. As usual, everything is simpler than simple, budgetary and understandable, and so let's go)

This type of smokehouse is made of ordinary thin roofing metal, with the expectation that many can repeat and make a smokehouse for themselves, without having a welding machine and special skills in working with metal.

All that was required for the master was scissors for metal and pliers as a tool, as well as the source material in the form of sheet roofing metal 0.5-0.7 mm

A blank was cut out of metal, marking was made, cutting, and then a metal box was bent. In addition, a lid is made of the same metal, a grid for storing meat and fish is bent from the wire, as well as a tray for collecting fat.

Smoke in such a smokehouse is very simple, namely, on the bottom of the drawer chips of alder or fruit trees are laid, fish or meat is placed on the grate and closed with a lid on top, put on a slow fire. Sawdust or wood chips inside the smokehouse will smolder slowly and thereby smoke the product in the smokehouse.

Let's take a closer look at the process of creating a smoke-cured smokehouse.

Materials

1. roofing ferrous metal 0.5-0.7 mm
2. steel and aluminum wire

Tool

1. metal scissors
2. pliers
3. nail
4. hammer
5. roulette

Step-by-step instructions for creating a smoke-cured smokehouse do it yourself.

The first step was to prepare all the necessary tools and a sheet of roofing ferrous metal (NOT galvanizing and NOT painted metal !!!!!)
Then the author made a cutting.
And he bent the metal box.
I also made a cover with a handle.
Fat collection tray.
Lattice made of steel and aluminum wire.
Then we go directly to the smoking process itself. Fish is laid out on a trellis, and at the bottom of the box chips of alder or fruit trees are laid (DO NOT use chips of coniferous trees !!!)
He closed the lid and set it on a slow fire.
Checked after 10 minutes, the goldfish became))
And after 20-25 minutes the fish is ready.
Bon Appetit!
As you can see, everything is simple.
Also, be sure to watch the video shot by the author, there are more details and subtleties in the manufacture of smoke-cured smokehouse. Happy viewing.

I don’t remember what’s called
Fire sterilizer?
Yes, no, the smokehouse is very normal, for the option "out of nothing and almost without tools" ...
I'm talking about black roofing iron ... I didn’t think that for the last forty years someone had been winging it ... I haven’t met it somehow ... And the old one is hardly preserved intact ...
P.S. And my friend smokes in ... I do not remember what is called ... a medical box made of stainless steel ...
... Well, mine, which is put on the barbecue, I think you saw everything on this site ...
I have an old kitchen (actually already a barn) covered with iron. True, you need to change it already. And neighbors about 5 years ago rebuilt the iron removed. And I took it. And as for the smokehouse, I bought 3-4 years ago in a tape for 200 rubles, I still use it.
This is where they allow themselves such luxury - to block the roof every year? smiles
(I'm talking about roofing ferrous metal 0.5-0.7 mm) ...
... In the village in childhood I saw a seam roof from this on two very old houses ... (Which didn’t burn in the war. Therefore, by the way, they didn’t burn either - the Germans, retreating, burned the villages, bringing the torch to the thatched roof. And in they broke the windows and threw the torch inside .. The hosts managed to extinguish it.) But there were layers of bitumen on top of the iron, which, in the heat, I remember, was leaking. And once in a couple of years, the owners again tarred the roof ...
(One of these houses was ours).
But so that now there is somewhere black roofing iron - not a hall ....
