Hello! I would like to tell you about a very interesting and maybe awkward project for the manufacture of LED flashlights for 1000 watts. Author homemade I used 20 LEDs of 50 watts each to create it, which I purchased on Ali Express and a regular aluminum radiator from the heating system, which will be used to remove large amounts of heat. For such an amount of LED matrices, it is better to use just such a radiator, since the matrices give away a lot of heat. )))
So, as mentioned above, we will need LED arrays in the amount of 20 pieces, 50 watts each. The matrices used by the author already have a built-in power driver and this is very convenient, you do not need to buy a separate power supply for them, you can connect 220 volts directly to the network. Also, for mounting the matrices on the radiator, thermal grease will be used, without it there is nothing at all!
So, first you need to solder the power wires to each LED. It will not be so simple to do this, since the aluminum radiator on which the matrix is installed removes heat very well and to solder the wire, it needs to be heated well.
First of all, the author decided to check one matrix first by connecting it through a device that measures power in order to check the operability and heating rate of the radiator.
The LEDs shine very brightly, the radiator heats up quickly, but the driver microcircuit regulates the current supplied to the LED matrix, and the current decreases as the radiator heats up. This is a very good feature, since it will not work to burn such an LED!
Then the author mounted the matrix on a more powerful aluminum plate using thermal grease. The power consumption of the matrix is fully consistent with that declared by the manufacturer, but even such a radiator began to warm up and the power began to fall slightly. Accordingly, the larger the radiator, the brighter the LEDs will shine!
So, now after all the tests, you can install the LEDs on an aluminum radiator, by soldering from each other, in parallel. You do not need to do this on the radiator itself, since heat will be dissipated very quickly during soldering and you will hardly succeed in soldering the wires.
After soldering all the LEDs, you can install them on the radiator. The author did not make any holes for mounting the matrices, but simply put them on the tremopaste and glued them by smearing. They hold pretty well not bad and without any fastening.
This is how the light-heating construction turned out, it’s easy to warm the rooms with such fanar, since there is a lot of heat, plug in the pump, fill it with water and heat your health, as they say))
There is a lot of light from such a lantern, the author could not convey how much it shines brightly! By the way, even such a radiator is not enough for complete heat dissipation, here you need to use something more powerful. After two minutes of operation, the radiator warmed up to 50-80 degrees, by the way, and power fell from 900 watts to 600 watts.
After tests on the street at 3 a.m., the flashlight showed very impressive results, everything was illuminated in a circle, the light from the flashlight shone very far, even the gray of any reflective elements. Power on the street in severe frost, fell less, but still this happened, even though the radiator was in the snow!
If you notice in the photo above, in the distance, ordinary incandescent lamps shine at 500 watts, there is practically no light from them. )) In general, such LED matrices can easily be used for street lighting, there is more light from them, it can be seen better, they last longer and the price is normal!
That's all, leave your comments, a divider a post and all that! )) Until next time, bye! )))
