Smoking is a great way to preserve food, and most importantly - delicious! Of course, you need to know the measure in everything, since the use of a large number of smoked products can be harmful to health. The author decided to make himself a smokehouse of gas cylinders. The design is simple and durable. Such a thing will be very useful in a country house or in the country. In addition to smoking, such an oven can be easily heated if you put it in the garageworkshop and so on.
Materials and tools for homemade:
- two gas cylinders (large and small);
- welding ();
- heat resistant paint;
- a hinge for a door;
- nuts, bolts and other little things;
- grinder or gas cutter ();
- sheet metal for the manufacture of grate;
- drill with drills ().
Smokehouse manufacturing process:
Step one. We prepare cylinders
Warning, this step is dangerous! Follow the instructions clearly!
The first thing you have to unscrew the tap of your gas cylinder and bleed all the gas. Then turn the bottle over and drain everything that is there. Now we arm ourselves with a pipe or other massive key and turn off the crane. It is unacceptable to warm it with an open source of fire or cut it with a grinder!
Next, when you turn off the tap, fill up a full container of water, preferably warm, then drain. It is advisable to do this procedure several times. Thanks to this, you completely clean the cylinder of gas, and it will become safe for cutting.
Step Two Cut a hole under the chimney
At the top of the container, where the valve was, mark the circle and cut it out. Do not make the hole too small, otherwise the stove may suffocate, it is better to make it larger, so we will still make valves for the pipes. In addition, do not forget to take into account the cross section of the pipe that you will use as a chimney.
Step Three Cut out the door
In the next step, the author designates the place and size of the door, and then cuts it out. The fastest way to do this job is with a gas cutter. But if this is not in use, it’s not scary, you can cope with this task with the help of a grinder.In extreme cases, even a jigsaw will do.
Step Four Chimney and furnace control
To control the combustion process and the supply of smoke, the author makes two regulators. One is installed between the furnace and the smoking chamber itself; it controls the intensity of the smoke supply. And the second is installed on the door of the stove, which allows you to control the air supply. The first regulator is controlled directly through the inside of the smoking chamber. In appearance, the regulators resemble the sign “Danger, radiation”. You can make them from thick sheet metal.
Step Five We weld two cameras together
Before that, the author prepared two cameras, we saw a photo of the production of one, but for the second they are not. The combustion chamber is also made of a cylinder, although small in size. Similarly, we cut out the door and the hole for the pipe there.
Now, using a small piece of pipe, we weld both chambers together. As a result, we get a finished design, it remains the case for trifles. At the same step, the author welded a chimney and installed a visor so that rainwater did not enter the furnace.
Step Six We hang doors
The doors will be cut parts from cylinders. We fasten them to loops, which you can do yourself, you will need pipe pieces and steel rods.
You also have to attach handles that can lock the doors, this is also done from scrap metal. Handles are important to ensure that they do not overheat when using the oven. It is necessary to use either insulating materials or make them more authentic.
Among other things, you will have to weld plates on the door so that they firmly cover the chambers.
Seventh step. We clean the construction of old paint
As a rule, there is paint on the cylinders, it will begin to smoke and burn when the furnace is fired. To avoid this, the paint needs to be immediately burned, or cleaned off with a grinder.
Step Eight. Painting
So that your homemade product does not rust and delight the eye, paint it. You can use just a primer for metal or heat-resistant paint.
At the end, do not forget to weld the pins or corner that will hold the grilles inside the housing.
The grate will be needed for the stove. They can be found ready-made or made yourself. We take a thick sheet of metal, cut a circle around the diameter of the container and cut out the cracks. That's all, the homemade product is ready, you can test.
We melt the oven, and load meat into the cooking chamber, it can be chicken, pork, and so on. If you cook food only on charcoal, you can just bake it, as in a conventional oven. And if you add a little fresh slivers, you will get great smoked meat. Do not forget to set the pan down the cooking chamber so that the fat does not run down and catch fire. Bon Appetit!
