Quadrocopter is not only an interesting educational toy, but also an excellent tool for shooting from a height. Of course, today it is not difficult to buy a quadrocopter, because they are mass-produced worldwide in large volumes. Especially found in China.
Quadrocopter can easily be made and do it yourselfthough you still have to buy electronics for control, motors and battery. However, it will cost even less. One author decided to make a basis for a quadrocopter from a tree. You can use plywood or other similar material, the main thing is to be light.
Materials and tools for homemade:
- four engines ();

- glue for wood;
- camera for shooting (if necessary);
- jigsaw;
- paper and drawing accessories;

- cogs, wires and other little things.
Quadrocopter manufacturing process:
Step one. We prepare the material
To get a good strong frame, the author glues several pieces together. They need to be glued so that the fibers of the sheets pass at an angle of 90 degrees, relative to each other. In other words, “crosswise”. Apply glue to the halves and tighten them with clamps. In this case, excess glue will be squeezed out, and the remaining glue will reliably glue the workpieces.
Step Two We make a template and cut out blanks
At this step, the author makes a template. First you need to draw it on paper, and then cut it out. For the convenience of work, the template is glued to the workpiece and then cut with a jigsaw. You also have to drill all the necessary holes with a drill.
In addition to the main part, you will need to cut out another small part, to which the electronics and the battery will be attached. This part is attached with self-tapping screws and bushings to the main frame.
Finish the entire surface with fine sandpaper. Take care to protect the wood from moisture. The author soaks it with teak furniture oil.Just do not saturate those places to which you plan to stick something.
Step Three We assemble a quadrocopter
Everything is ready, the quadrocopter can be assembled. Replace the four engines, fasten them with screws. You can also attach propellers. Solder two wires to the engines, pull them to the center, this is where the "heart" of the machine is. Between each engine and the main controller, engine drivers are installed, there are only four of them, like motors. Well, the drivers are already connected to the main controller, which receives radio commands and supplies power to the engines.
The author hides the drivers under heat shrinkage and then fixes them additionally with plastic clips. Also reliably protect all other components from dirt and especially moisture.
That's all, it remains to install the battery and camera. After that, the quadrocopter can be tested. Good luck
