For a long time of the existing fishery, the main types of volumetric shapes have been identified, starting with a simple snuff-box to casket with secrets. Figure 1, a, b, c shows the simplest products - boxes. The volume of the box is determined by the functional purpose. Boxes vary in type of lid and hinge. The cap itself can be voluminous or flat. Caskets in a complex version are made with locks in the form of latches or locks, complementing chamfers and other decorative elements that are more complex in profile. When decorating the box, do not overload it with complex elements. There should be a sense of proportion in everything!
Simple heels - “buttons” are placed at the corners of the box, stepping back from the corner of the box to the vertical line of the side face. They serve to make the product look as if raised above the plane of the table.
The most complex type of product is the casket (Fig. 1, f, g). The lid is high, with a slope around the perimeter. Figured heel protrudes along the edge of the "platik" - the bottom.The larva of the lock implies the presence of a lock (although there may be a simple latch). As a rule, a hidden container is sealed in the lid - the “secret”. The complex casket resembles the shape of a house, a tower. Such a casket is called - "house". A ring can be inserted into the lid, which, being a decorative and functional element, can be at the same time the key to the “secret”.
