When working with electronics, you often need a power supply and a "third hand". The master decided to combine these two tools in one case.
The power supply has adjustable voltage and current, two terminals, a USB connector and a display. Voltage and current are controlled by a module capable of both increasing and decreasing voltage. It has a range from 1.25 to 30 V and from 0.2 to 10 A. 5V 2A is supplied to the USB connector. The third arm has two clamps and is mounted on the massive body of the power supply.
Tools and materials:
- Charger for laptop;
-Adjustable power module;
- Potentiometer 200 kOhm - 2 pcs;
-Pens - 2 pcs;
-Digital ammeter / voltmeter;
- Terminals;
-Switch;
-Crocodile clips;
- Lowering module;
-USB jack;
- Nozzle for CNC - 2 pcs;
-Shrink tubes;
-Fasteners;
-Super glue;
-Soldering accessories;
-Lighter;
-3D - printer;
Step One: Connect
Electronic the part is assembled according to the following scheme.
Step Two: Potentiometers
Potentiometers are mounted on the board. The master solders them and solders them to the contacts, through the wires, external potentiometers 200 kOhm.
Step Three: 3D Printing
The master printed the case on a 3D printer.
Files for printing can be downloaded below.

Step Four: Third Hand
The best way to fix the clamps is to first cut off the edges of the tubes, install one side of the clamp in the hole and fix with glue.
Then the wizard installs the other end of the tubes into the adapter (printed) and fastens it to the case.
Step Five: Front Panel
Assembles a front panel.
If you do not have access to a 3D printer, then you can make the case from other materials, and the link to the front panel can be downloaded below.

Step Six: Build
Now the wizard starts assembling the device. Installs nuts in the cover guides.
Assembles a case, installs electronics.
All is ready.
The master is pleased with the result. The only thing that can be changed is to set, for more precise adjustment of voltage and current, multi-turn potentiometers.
