So, there are situations when you need to cut a long strip of the same width from an ordinary plastic bottle along its entire length. It is almost impossible to do this manually, since you cannot cut such a strip of the same size along its entire length. Let's make a device that helps to cut a strip of any length and size from a plastic bottle.
For crafts, we need the following components:
- one unnecessary CD or DVD disc;
- two necks from plastic bottles;
- coins (by the number of coins you can adjust the thickness of your future tape);
- blade;
- burner;
- sandpaper;
- glue.
First, on both necks of the plastic bottles, we make cuts on the sides:
Next, take coins (the thickness of the strip will depend directly on the number of coins). In the video, the author makes a strip 5 mm wide. For this, he used 4 coins:
Now we take the blade, heat both its edges and gently fuse the blade into both cut off necks:
In the video, it was not possible to melt the blade perfectly symmetrically into both necks, so we take another blade, melt it with a torch and carefully cut the neck to obtain symmetry:
Next, we clean the disc and the back of both necks with sandpaper.
After stripping, gently apply one layer of glue to the disc and wait 20 minutes.
Next, again we put glue on the disk and on the reverse cleaned surface of both necks and glue the necks to the disk in this way:
Additionally we glue our design:
We give our device to dry (it is better to dry on a battery for at least 24 hours).
That's all!!! Now I will show how to use this device.
We attach the device with tape to any surface, for example, a table, take the desired plastic bottle (in our case it is a 2 liter bottle), cut the bottom of the bottle with scissors and make a small incision in the bottle itself.
After that, the notched “tail” is pushed between the blade and the disc, from above we press a little on the bottle itself and gently pull it slowly on this “tail”. The bottle will gradually rotate and you will get an even ribbon from a plastic bottle.
