From old auto parts dusting in the corner of your the garage, you can easily build a nice low stool.
To make this "creative detail" of the garage interior you will need the following tools and materials:
• old waste wheel;
• crankshaft;
• torsional vibration damper of the crankshaft;
• washer and bolt for connecting a damper;
• wheel spacer;
• flywheel;
• electric jigsaw or band saw;
• wrench;
• adhesive spray;
• furniture stapler;
• thick sheet of foam rubber;
• a sheet of thick, multilayer plywood;
• screws;
• a flap of durable decorative material for upholstery.
Operating procedure
1. Position the crankshaft vertically on the flywheel and balance it using a flexible plate (near the floor). Place a wheel on top of the crankshaft and balance it.
2. On top of the rim, center the gasket. Slide the torsional vibration damper and set it to the desired location. Tighten the bolts with a wrench.
3. Now that the upper part of the improvised stool is assembled, attach the base to its “leg” - screw the flywheel to the crankshaft with four bolts.
4. Make a seat for your stool. Take a sheet of plywood, draw a circle on it with a rope compass, the diameter of which is commensurate with the outer diameter of the wheel. With a band saw, according to the marking, cut out a circle from plywood and grind its edges.
5. Take a sheet of foam, put a plywood circle on it and circle its shape with a felt-tip pen. Cut the disc out of the foam, leaving 5 centimeter allowances from the pattern line.
6. According to the marking made earlier, cut a recess in the foam disk. It is convenient to do this with a grinder equipped with a diamond wheel. Try on how the plywood round base enters the finished recess.
7. On the inside surface of the recess and on one side of the plywood circle, apply the adhesive spray, insert the circle into the recess, press it in and wait until the adhesive has dried.
8. Turn the seat over and use a grinder to carefully cut off the protruding excess foam.
9. On the table, spread the wallpaper upside down and straighten it.Lay the seat on the flap with a foam layer down. Trim the excess parts of the flap. Bend the corners of the upholstery evenly, straighten and pull them up, lay them on a plywood base and attach to it with a furniture stapler.
10. Attach the finished seat to the wheel base and admire your creation.
