This wonderful site already has matchstick variation, this is a very ancient version, still pre-war (1940s), or maybe it was invented before ... But there is an easier option and it is simpler to execute! Yes, and it will turn out no worse. We need a little material, and they are very affordable.
If you want to shoot burning matches that fly beautifully in the dark and leave a beautiful smoke trail behind you, then you have come to the address!
Materials:
- The spring from under the lighter (the most inaccessible material), it is advisable to use a spring from the Cricet lighter
- The rod from the helium pen (so that the match passes, and its head gets stuck)
- source of fire
- Matches (shells)
Not necessary:
- A piece of fleece and toothpicks (matches can be used without heads)
Step one:
Cut off 6 cm of our core.
And then with the help of fleece and toothpicks we clean the core from the paste (even if you washed the core it will not be completely washed off)
Step Two:
We disassemble the lighter, get the spring, and everything else can be thrown out
We insert the spring so that it is exposed by about a millimeter
Slightly melt the end of the rod and press it a little on the sides, first rolling it on the table and repeating this several times. Then when the spring will no longer fly out, with our fingers we give the end of the rod the shape of a hemisphere.
Be careful, I, as a "connoisseur" of this matter, due to carelessness and haste, still got a couple of blisters!
Instead of a lighter, I used a burner for melting, because it is more convenient to use.
Step Three:
We take a match and insert it so that its head gets stuck in the rod. And what do we see?
The spring is not fully compressed! Now we are doing a little cutting off the excess so that the spring is compressed as much as possible!
Done! We made a match shooter!
Mode of application:
Do not shoot at flammable materials!
Now we push the match into the rod to the end so that its head gets stuck in the rod. And we set fire to the head, it burns for about a second, decreases and the match flies out! (Sometimes a match gets stuck and starts to burn)
I once shot a window ...
Shells
In order for the matches to always go into the match arrow and not get stuck, it is recommended to take the iron tip from the handle and put it in and out a couple of times, so we can reduce its diameter.
Short match arrows:
Short match arrows are made exactly the same, only the rod is taken a little shorter. You need to run by pressing on the match box, and then sharply strike it! Just let's compare the short and long match arrows:
Pros of a long matchstick:
More comfortable aiming
More beautiful launch
Minuses:
Delay in a couple of seconds before starting
Longer and harder reloads
The advantages of a short match:
Faster reload time and no delay
Easier to do
Small size, easy to carry in almost full matchbox
Minuses:
If you make a triple / quadruple match shooter, it will be terribly inconvenient to shoot
Total:
We got a small toy that shoots at a distance of 10 meters, with it you can surprise friends and set fire to a fire from a few meters (pre-dousing with liquid for ignition). Or make a salute in the evening.
You can wear a long match arrow by placing it diagonally in a box. And the best thing is to make a Katyusha out of several long match arrows! Ignited one match ignites the rest and causes a chain reaction from a hail of burning matches!
