The door to the nursery, which the "caring" builders made in the very corner of the room, opening inward, always beat the handle against the wall. And since the children have no idea what it is to gently open it, the L-shaped handle has already broken twice, and the rotary round managed to punch a considerable hole in the wall. No, I couldn’t decide to go on like this, and I realized that you can’t do without good emphasis.
But all the door stops that I saw in the store had one drawback: once having installed, without a tool, to remove them, when it was urgently required to open the door wide open, it just didn’t work. And then, all affordable, were made of silumin and plastic, and expensive and fashionable cost so much that it is cheaper to re-paste the wallpaper in the nursery every year. Therefore - a handmade.
So, to make this emphasis for the door, I needed:
• a piece of chipboard 200x400 mm,
• which I preferred to saw on a cutting machine: it will turn out much more accurately.
In addition, you will need:
• two and a half meters of paper edge,
• five wooden dowels, PVA glue,
• two furniture canopies, eight screws for them, four confirmations,
• a drill bit, a pair of screws and dowels (one more was needed),
• awl, mallet,
• shoe knife, whetstones with sandpaper and felt,
• “faithful companion” in all homemade a drill / driver, two drills (diameter 8 mm and confirm), a cross and hexagonal bits, a magnetic extension cord for quick change,
• impact drill (the walls in our house are concrete, especially hard),
• and “His Majesty” an ordinary iron. Take any, anyway you will not spoil it.
That's all, let's get started.
We heat the iron, glue it to the edge (you can replace the felt bar with an ordinary rag),
and cut off the excess with a knife. If necessary, we process the edges with sandpaper.
Putting a “sandwich”. We drill three pieces of chipboard (not through, the insulating tape on the drill will not allow to miss), and fasten it with dowels and glue.
Now we apply the fourth layer and with the help of confirmations, fasten. I deliberately spread the places of dowels and confirmations so that they did not “meet” each other: I didn’t make any markings, everything was “in place”.
We fasten two canopies.The emphasis for a door, 65 mm thick, is ready. In general, in your case, it can be absolutely any, I just needed one.
We drill three holes in the wall, insert the dowels and screw the screws into them.
We hang our emphasis for a door. Done.
Moreover, the width of the holes themselves in the canopies, and the fact that it can be outweighed left and right,
limits the door opening from "fully open",
to the "alkali less than half."
And at the end - a little "bonus". The school uniform, which hangs on the same door throughout the school week, wrinkles much less: it just does not touch the wall when opening.
