Top light on a boat

Top light on a boat

There are such swimming rules (PPVVP), prescribing the behavior (equipment) of floating equipment on the water.
The rules relating to lights must be observed from sunset to sunrise (at night), as well as in conditions of limited visibility during the day.

Lights of small and sailing ships. Boats and motor boats, regardless of engine power, must carry a top-end, [side and stern lights. Side lights may be combined in one lamp.]

When anchoring in a place where other vessels can sail, a motorized small craft should carry one white all-round light. It should carry the same fire if it goes on oars, under sail or in tow (you can also have such fire ready and show it when other ships approach).

And at first we were not going to swim at night. But, once they returned home on a spare engine not quickly (and against the tide).

And it quickly got dark ... We turned on two headlamp Chinese lanterns, one shone forward and one back. And they overtook a crawling barge with a pusher.

In general, you must have on the motorboat Top signal (light).

Now we anchor the boat with the Top Fire.

We had on a boat (Progress-4) before that there was a light bulb on a piece of iron. Mounted on the visor (front glass). We redid the visor - on the visor with a window leaf. This is to exit the boat through the bow deck (quite convenient). And the light bulb was rejected ...

Made on LEDs from 12v. Powered by a separate Battery. The circuit and construct are shown below.

For manufacturing, it was required (shown in the photo):
- 6 white LEDs
- tubes for water supply from PP (polypropylene) d = 22mm and d = 32mm
- mounting wire
- cambric
- 180 ohm resistors (2pcs.)
- switches 2A (2pcs.)
- block (4 directions)
- screws (5pcs.)
- screw with nut M4 (5 pcs.)
- screw with nut M2 (2 pcs.)
- plastic transparent cap
- a piece of white plastic (bottom of the cap)
- a piece of foam (to stop the battery)
- thick cardboard (punch card)
- plastic corner (2 pcs)
- plastic box (case)
- wooden board (stand)
- Battery DELTA DT1207
- Moment glue (waterproof)

LEDs are mounted on a ring of thick cardboard cut and glued from a punch card (shown in the photo).

The holes for the LED legs in the cardboard are pierced with a needle.

Then the LEDs are soldered according to the circuit. The LEDs are covered with a transparent cap made of plastic, which is glued to the plastic base and a piece of the tube d = 32mm. All this combination is put on the upper end of the tube d = 22mm and is fixed with a screw on the side. The wire from the LEDs is passed inside the tube d = 22mm.

Resistors are soldered into a wire break and closed (insulated) by cambrics. The current consumption from the battery was ~ 32mA.

The total length (height) was 105cm. And also the height of the side ...

Mounted through the plank under the rear "duck" and fixed with a clamp (temporarily).

In the parking lot (at the base), all this is removed from us (and stored in the closet)

Photos in nature are shown below.

An interesting shot at night. Fotik "photographed" the luminous ball and reflection from the water.
And the human eye adapts and sees as if a luminous cylinder ... if not far.
