Given device very useful in cases where the tin lid on the can is not unscrewed. To make such a tool, you will need very affordable materials that we usually throw away. Despite the simplicity of manufacture, this tool is in no way inferior in functionality to the analogous one made at the factory, and having made it do it yourselfYou will enjoy and save your money!

To make such a tool, we need:


  1. Five liter plastic bottle
  2. Piece of reiki

To begin with, we clamp the rail in a vise and saw off the excess part from it, leaving a 15-20 cm length in the vise.




Then, with a marker or pencil, mark the oblique line as shown in the photo below.



Next, armed with a hacksaw for metal, we cut obliquely the end of the rail, at the mark.




Then we process the sawn surface well, removing roughness.



Next, release the workpiece and turn it over the opposite side and again clamp in a vice.



Then again we make the markup in the form of a line, just like on the other side. The mark must be made a little further than the one that was on the other side.



Next, we make a cut with a hacksaw for metal to the mark to the middle of the rail, as shown in the photo below.




Then we cut off the ring from a five-liter bottle.




Fold it in half and cut off a little more than half with scissors.





Now you need an ice cream stick or something similar to it, the main thing is to be thin, about the thickness of the sheet of metal.



Fold the cut strip from the bottle, put the end to the slot and press it out, hammering a thin stick, as in the photo below.






Then, with a drill, two holes must be made to fix the plastic strip.




Well, to twist there two screws. Holes must be made necessarily, since if you tighten the screws without them, the rail can crack and all the work will be worthless.





Well, our tool for unscrewing the covers is ready.Using it is very simple, just put a plastic ring on the lid and unscrew the lid with a lever. The tool is very convenient and takes up little space in the kitchen, but at the same time it is incredibly effective.

But now, this number does not always go with jam ... The fact is that she pours it into the jar hot and thick. That is, it often happens that the jar is filled under the very lid (After pouring, a "hump" has spread)))). And in this case, the plastisol sealant is firmly glued to the rim of the can. Moreover, the jam also seals the lid inside and does not let in air with a weak bend. It is necessary to bend the lid very strongly with a knife, or with another “lever”, until the plastisol “falls off”! And after that, the lid is already to be thrown out!
.. In fairness, I’ll say that even my housewives can cope with such a jar of jam only together! smiles One holds a can with two hands, the other twists! ok ....

And it will also bend the edge of the cover. (Most likely, it was made for the sake of the video on YouTube, and not for practical use) ... I set up my own for a very long time, changing the radius of the belt and precisely adjusting the curvature of the stop lever, until I achieved that the 82-mm cover stopped deforming even with very strong jerks.
