Boomerang - wooden throwing club. Some species have a special aerodynamic shape, which allows to increase the throwing range and / or helps to return to the launch site. In the past - combat and hunting weapons among many nations of the world. And also this is a fascinating and interesting “toy”, both for children and adults!
At home, the remainder of the strip of laminated floor was found and it was decided to make a boomerang.
Necessary materials and tools:
- Laminate
- pencil
- Square
- Ruler
- Jigsaw or jigsaw
- File
- Emery or grinding machine (without this, you can do just working with a file)
Step one. First you need to decide on the future shape of the boomerang and draw its profile on the laminate.
You can take a finished drawing, print it and transfer it.
I acted differently, transferred this drawing with a ruler and a square. A bit more complicated, but the printer at home after a long period of inactivity turned out to be idle ((
I drew the edges and the outer corner of the boomerang using a coffee cup, measuring the same distance from the center and putting marks. In my case, it turned out 19 cm from the center to the edge.
The inside corner of the boomerang needs to be made more rounded, so I used a CD.
As a result, we got such a picture.
Step Two Now this sketch needs to be cut, I used an electric jigsaw for this, but the usual one for this case will do.
Step Three
Now you need to grind the boomerang blades so that they turn out in the form of a wing.
You need to start here according to this principle.
To do this, I again armed with a ruler and a pencil and began to draw.
Then, on emery, you need to grind off everything superfluous, of course you can with a file, but it will be sooo long.
He did the main work on emery, the rest needs to be done with a file. Finalize and smooth out bumps.
As a result, we got such a boomerang.
Fourth step
After I did it, we hurried with my son to the test. About three o'clock we threw this boomerang, it got into the ground, cut bushes, fought against trees but survived.
Laminate was quite strong.
The only thing I want to add is a brighter color, because sometimes it is difficult to see it in the sky, and it would also be easier to find it in the grass.
