When performing any work, sometimes you forget to wear safety glasses, which is not safe for the eyes. The master invented and manufactured a device that automatically lowers glasses on the eyes when the power tool is turned on, and automatically raises glasses when it is turned off. The idea is interesting and has a right to exist. Even if you don’t forget to wear it, you have to periodically take off and put on glasses in the process of work, but here, I put on my cap and no longer need to remember where you put the glasses three minutes ago. But let's watch a video demonstrating the operation of the device.
To make such a device, the master used the following
Tools and materials:
- pliers;
-Drill;
-Soldering equipment;
-3D printer;
-Sewing machines;
-Arduino Nano;
-Protective glasses;
-Cap;
-Servomotor weight 9 grams;
-Battery 9V;
-Red LED;
- Resistor 220 Ohm;
-Fasteners;
-Copper wire;
Step One: Design and 3D Printing
The wizard developed the mounting parts for his device in the Fusion 360 program. After designing, the parts were printed on a 3D printer.
Code and print files can be downloaded below.
Step Two: electronics
According to the circuit mounts the electronics. After assembly, it downloads the code and checks the operation of the device by turning on some kind of power tool. If the servo does not work, it is necessary to change the threshold setting in the code.
On the back of the board you need to stick Velcro.
Step Three: Cap
The second part of the Velcro is sewn onto the cap and fastens the fastener on the inside of the visor.
Step Four: Build
Now he drills a hole in the glasses and screws a screw into it. A hole is also drilled in the part attached to the cap. Secures the servo, board, glasses. It connects the servo drive and the eyeglass lever with a wire rod.
All is ready.
