Manufacturing process.
First of all, on cutting a board with a thickness of 20 mm, the author marks the future eight blanks with dimensions of 85X70 mm.
Then cuts the workpiece on the miter saw, and collects the future base of the body.
Marks on blanks where they need to be cut. For a tight connection of the octagon from the blocks, both its edges must be cut off at an angle of 22.5 degrees. He sets the saw blade at this angle, and processes all the workpieces.
Now manually cleans the whetstones with sandpaper.
Details are prepared, now they can be glued. After assembling the sides, he fixes them with office rubber bands.
The author thought such a design was too rough, and thick-walled. Therefore, he decided to make the walls twice as thin.
Next, you should process all the faces with an orbital sander, and part of the body is ready.
Now he marks the contours of the bottom on sheet plywood, cuts it with a jigsaw, and grinds it.
Then just paste it.
As a separator, trim trimming is suitable, he also needs to cut the outer ends, but the cut will already be double (or V-shaped). The angle is the same 22.5 degrees.
Glues a jumper in the center of the box.
From the trim board cuts the lever of the nut cracker, it is important that the fibers are directed along its length.
It remains to make a holder for the lever, which will simultaneously be a focus for the nut. And stick it in a corner.
Everything is ready, you can insert the lever into place.
Here's a decorative nut cracker. Something resembles a well. It has two compartments - for the shell and whole nuts. It turned out very convenient!
