Probably each of you met with a problem when a faucet begins to drip with a ceramic crane axle box.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel "Andrey Vinnichuk" will tell you how to quickly repair it without acquiring a new one.

The author will consider the most common tap leakage problem.

Materials
- Solidol
- Elastic band from the crane axle boxes.

Instruments, used by the author.
- Knife, wrench, screwdriver.

Manufacturing process.
First of all, the master needs to unscrew the decorative plug on the lamb. For all subsequent actions, if you can’t remove the “sour” parts, you need to use vinegar to dissolve the rust. After wetting the connection points of the parts, they must be left at least 30 minutes. WD-40 and its analogs also help quite well.

Then the clamping screw is unscrewed, and the lamb is removed from the stem.


Next, unscrew the decorative cap.


It remains only to carefully unscrew the crane axle box itself.


Now you need to remove the clamp holding the rod, pull out the rubber and two ceramic inserts. It is important to remember the position of the ceramic inserts.

Next, get the stem by pushing it out of the body.



Here is the same plastic gasket, due to the thinning of which the tap begins to drip. You can replace this gasket if you have a new one.


The author solves the problem easier. He cuts a ring 1-1.5 mm thick from an elastic band from an old crane of an axle box. It is important to cut it off as evenly as possible, without any burrs.



Then, having assembled the axle box in the reverse order, installs it immediately after the ceramic inserts. And after it inserts a full-time gum.


Assembling the tap back, the master lubricates the stem and thread on the axle box with grease. This will avoid the formation of oxides, and the next time to disassemble it with almost no effort. And another tip, do not throw away the old axle box crane, the details from them will come in handy for repairs. For example, another leak problem is getting rust between ceramic inserts, and, as a result, chipping off their edges.
