Greetings to fans of working with metal. Today we will look at how to make such a useful machine as a roll forming machine. Using such homemade you can easily bend a profile pipe into a circle, you can also work with round pipes, fittings, and so on. Homemade in the assembly is quite simple and assembled all of the available materials. The homemade axles are made of the axles of the car, they rotate on bearings and therefore these units are able to withstand considerable loads. Machine manufacturing process:
Step one. Racks
First of all, we will make the racks and weld the frame, for the racks we need a channel, we cut two pieces of the same length. In addition to this, we will need another small piece of the channel for the base. Well, then we weld the entire structure, the racks should be welded clearly in parallel.
Step Two Mobile platform
Now you need to make a movable platform that will ride on racks like an elevator. As a basis for the platform, we use a piece of the channel, and for guides we weld 4 corners to the channel. That's all, now the main power unit is ready, the platform will be lifted using a hydraulic jack.
At the end of the step, we clean the metal and welds well, and then paint over the iron so that it does not rust.
Step Three Rollers
Now we will make rollers for the machine, these axes must be very strong, ordinary iron for homemade products will not work, here we need steel. The author found suitable details in car, they became half shafts. We cut the axis to the desired length and now we need to grind the seats under the bearings. In this matter, we need the help of a turner.
Step Four Bearing cages
We produce bearings for bearings, for this we need to find a pipe with such an inner diameter that the bearing fits into it. If the pipe is too big, it can be cut along and put the clamps in the form of bolts with nuts, well, or welded to the desired diameter.We weld fasteners in the form of iron plates to the cages, and also set limiters so that the bearings do not come out of the cages along with the axis.
Step Five Assembly
We assemble the roll forming machine, the author mounts the bearings with bearings using screws. For convenience, holes can be drilled in the frame and threaded for screws, well, or you can simply weld the nuts to the frame.
Step Six Final touches and tests
The homemade product is almost ready, but the machine still does not have a base, as well as a helm. As for the helm, its author made it on an already created machine, the helm was welded from profile pipes. As for the base, you can simply weld a plate with holes for attaching the machine to the table.
