Many of you prefer to carry out repairs yourself. But what can replace tiles or wallpaper?
In this article, the author of the Stylish Decor YouTube channel, will tell you about high-quality, beautiful and durable coating of walls using putty and imitation of wood texture.
This technique is quite simple, and any master who is friends with a spatula can repeat it.
Materials

Manufacturing process.
So, the starting layer of putty is ready. First of all, the craftsmen put on the wall a marking in the form of large masonry, using a chop cord and a rule. The edges of the "masonry" are cut either with a knife or with a nail.
The wall surface is then treated with a regular primer, for example from the manufacturer Ceresit CT17.
Next, a solution is prepared from a modeling mixture with a quartz filler. Such a mixture is required because this coating is applied to the walls in the restroom, and must have high moisture protection characteristics. When working in other rooms, the usual finishing putty is suitable. Black dye was also added to this mixture. After this, the mixture is applied to part of the wall.
Now you need a special spatula stamp. With it, the wood texture will be formed.
With light wave-like movements of the spatula, the author forms a texture.
Gradually applying a modeling mixture, and treating the surface with a spatula, the master completes the first stage.
After a day, the entire surface of the wall is covered with the first layer of matte varnish.
After the varnish dries, white paint is gradually applied. The brush should not be pressed strongly against the surface.
Using a conventional spatula, excess paint is removed with cutting movements.
In the same way, the rest of the surface is processed in stages.
The next day, the author covers the entire wall with a layer of glossy acrylic varnish.
And here is the finished surface. If you do not know how it is made, then we can assume that this is a tile!
