The author of Instructables under the nickname PiezoMan, like many dog lovers, does not like to often replace batteries in luminous collars. It would seem that feeding LEDs from piezoelectric elements is an excellent solution. But not so simple ...
The master takes piezoelectric elements, usually used as sound emitters, special shoes for dogs, diodes, breadboard type breadboard, LED module, electrical tape, elastic tape, conductors, tools and a breakfast box:
Measures the conductors according to the growth of the dog, after which it lengthens the wires coming from the piezoelectric elements and isolates the connections:
A rectifier bridge is made of diodes, a breadboard such as a breadboard and a breakfast box, the dimensions of which will cause an inferiority complex in the ABC-80-260. The holes for the conductors are pierced in the box with a heated hook. Piezoelectric elements parallelizes. Since pulses on them will not occur synchronously, it is not necessary to think about polarity. It is better to think about the fact that the piezoelectric element that does not currently generate an impulse shunts the one that produces.
The master connects an LED module to the bridge output, which secures it to the box cover:
It makes bandages from an elastic tape for clamping piezoelectric elements to the dog’s legs, and secures the box with a bridge and LED module on a collar from the same tape, but wider:
And now the dog is fully equipped:
And if this is it - it glows with health, then it glows somehow languidly. I hope that everything is normal with her health, just a light indicator is so-so. And she is very uncomfortable carrying all this tuning on herself, especially the giant diode bridge.
How cool physical experience will come down. But for practical use it’s not good at all. Such soft flashes do not increase the dog’s visibility when crossing the road. For those who want to achieve good results here without the use of batteries, there has long been a solution that meets the KISS principle, namely, retroreflectors. And the larger the area, the better.
By the way, the translator really liked the other two instructions of the same master - about a tourist’s breakfast and a coffee table made of pallets.
