Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Base
First of all, we will make the base, cut out a piece of MDF of the required size and glue the pieces of MDF in the corners that will serve as legs. Also, a hole for a stand is drilled at the base, which is a piece of pipe. To strengthen the pipe fastening, glue another piece of MDF with a hole opposite the hole.
At the end, you can install the stand, the author glues it to a good glue, do not forget to well center the pipe with a square. After the glue hardens, it would be good to additionally strengthen the rack with some fasteners so that it does not move under load.
Step Two Thrust table
We make a persistent table, for the manufacture we glue together two sheets of MDF, and it is better to use plywood. A hole is drilled in the table along the diameter of the rack, at the end we make a latch that will fix the table at the desired height. The latch can be made of nuts and a threaded rod. We drill a hole in the rod and insert the axis as a handle.
Step Three Fixture for a drill
We make fixtures for a drill. The author got a kind of box with a hole for the nose of the drill. It is advisable to drill a hole of such a diameter so that the drill goes tight.At the end, the drill is glued to a good glue, it is also important to make sure that the chuck is level.
To install the drill, the author had to cut the handle, but without this it was fashionable to do this by making an appropriate slot for it.
Step Four Housing
Making the case, we need to assemble another box a little larger in size than the drawer for the drill. As a result, one box will go into another. The author used an aluminum corner as a guide. Of course, this is not reliable and there will be backlashes, you can adapt furniture sliders.
Step Five Feed unit
We make a supply unit, for this, a rail with cloves is glued to the box with a drill, this can be removed from a printer or similar equipment. And in the case an axis with a gear is installed, which interacts with the rail.
The author made a pen from MDF, cut out a circle and glue it to the axis. At the end, the author glues nails into the circle at an angle, the handle is ready.
Step Six Assembly
We press a wooden cork into the glue stand, the author screwed the MDF part to the cork, which is glued to the main body of the machine.
In the end, the author tightens all the details together with wood screws, now everything will be held relatively tightly.
Seventh step. Final touches and tests
At the end, we mount the panel with the switch and connect the wires. Do not forget to set the reverse switch.
The machine is ready, paint it, and now it looks interesting. You can drill, the author works with drills of a rather large diameter, and the machine can withstand loads. How long will such a machine live remains a mystery.
