To make this homemade product, the author uses:

To make this key holder, the author uses two small planks glued together. In general, this homemade product is very economical in terms of the materials used.
The central line is drawn on the blank, marking the center of the bar (for convenience, I will call the blank so). Then, at an equal distance from each other, points are outlined - the middle of future holes. Using a drilling machine and a Forstner drill, 4 holes are imitated to simulate the recesses in the plug sockets. The unnecessary part of the workpiece is sawn off.
The author makes plugs for the outlet from the sawn-off part of the bar. Having drawn the shape he needs on one side, he cuts the workpiece with a band saw. So from the remainder of the bar you get 4 forks - waste-free use of material.
Using a grinding wheel, the workpiece is brought to the desired shape, giving the ends a pointed, smooth shape. At the ends, makes holes to thread rings with keys in them. The file brings the final gloss.
On a milling machine, rounds the ends and side faces of the outlet. On the undersides of the forks, drills holes for legs, or pins, as they are called in some cases.
In order to make recesses for the legs of the plugs in the socket itself so that they coincide with the holes, the author uses centerings for dowels. Inserts them into the holes of the plugs and clicking in the recess of the outlet, the author receives the exact location for drilling holes. So that they are at the same angle, guide marks are applied to the edges of the outlet and drilling is carried out on them. For legs uses dowels, gluing them into forks.
The key keeper is almost ready. For greater realism, the author decides to install a rocker switch. Having marked its location, the chisel selects a groove for it. Files flatten his walls. Then covers all finished products with oil. Sets the switch. Screws wood screws into socket recesses. Two small to medium and two large to extreme. Small self-tapping screws play a purely decorative role, and with the help of large ones, the outlet is attached to the wall.
