This is especially true for beginners, in whom the percentage of hits is not so great. That is why many hunters prefer the independent production of fractions. And this is the right way, because with it you can not only save on the purchase of charges, but also by shooting, it is optimal to choose it for your gun.
Today we will talk about the long-known and most practical method of self-production of fractions in home conditions.
The most common method among hunters is the production of fractions by improvised means, namely with the help of a frying pan, lead, magnet, basin and tap water. Thanks to these components, you will get an excellent fraction of the fifth number. In principle, each hunter decides which number to choose for himself, since it can be adjusted by changing the diameter of the hole and the melting temperature, as you will see, you will understand later.
Preparation and manufacturing process
To do this, we need an old unnecessary frying pan, on the edge of the bottom of which we drill a hole with a diameter of 0.7 mm, plugging it with a plug. As a temporary plug, you can use a nail or steel wire of a suitable diameter. We put a frying pan on gas and pour lead into it, about 2-3 kilograms. Next, we need a metal basin, which we fill with water (it is better to use molasses), preferably to the brim, and place it directly under the pan. The ideal distance between the bowl and the pan is from about one centimeter to two. Next, we fix the groove to the edge of the basin with a magnet. Previously, it will be advisable to tighten the groove with flannel or silk and wet it well. It is important to know that in the manufacture of large fractions, the groove should be removed, and small, of course, vice versa.
Before carrying out the above work, pay attention to the size of the fraction that you want to get as a result. It is important to take into account not only the diameter of the hole, but also the melting temperature, since with fast melting, lead flows out faster, and the fraction, accordingly, is large. If you did everything according to the instructions, but the balls still turn out to be imperfect, for example, oval, you should slightly increase the height of the pan from the groove, or lower the groove itself, adjusting it with a magnet.
