It is very convenient to use this flashlight in the dark, when it is difficult to make out the keyboard. Just insert into the USB socket of the laptop, bend in the right direction and everything is perfectly visible!
If you want to make such a USB flashlight do it yourself, you will need:
- Plate lighter with flexible corrugated part
- USB plug
- Bright white LED
- 100 ohm resistor
- connecting wires
From the tools you will need:
- Soldering iron, solder, aluminum flux
- screwdriver
- Hot glue gun
Step 1
Using a screwdriver, we completely disassemble the lighter.
Separate the flexible corrugated tube, remove the iron cap from it and remove the tube for gas and wire from the piezoelectric element from the inside.
Step 2
We solder 2 wires to the LED (plus and minus), insert the LED with the wires into the corrugated tube and fix the LED at the end with hot-melt adhesive so that the LED is outside and the wires and legs of the LED are not visible.
Step 3
Using hot melt adhesive, glue a flexible corrugated tube with an LED and wires to the USB plug and solder it as compact as possible with a resistor according to the scheme:
Strictly observe the polarity!
Step 4
We press our resistor together with the soldered ends of the wires (make sure that the bare parts of the wires do not touch each other, otherwise there may be a short circuit) to the bottom of the tube at the junction with the USB plug, gently and evenly glue the adhesive on top so that the solder and flashlight are not visible looked beautiful
