Not a single avid fisherman will ever miss the opportunity to independently make mormyshka. This article will discuss an example of how to make do it yourself mormyshka for catching bream. The author called it a “wave”, since it has a wave-like structure.
For the manufacture of such gear does not require a lot of time and materials. As a result, an excellent tackle comes out, with the help of which you can engage in ice fishing not only for bream, but also for roach, crucian carp and many other fish.
Tools and materials for making mormyshki
- lead or tin;
- a piece of copper tube with a diameter of 0.5 mm;
- a needle;
- hook;
- wire;
- pliers and nippers.
Mormyshka manufacturing process
Step 1. We make the foundation of mormyshka
You need to take a copper tube and wind a copper wire on it, it will be enough to make 3-4 turns. The excess edges of the workpiece must be bitten off using nippers. At this stage, the basis of mormyshka can be considered terminal.
Step 2. Install the hook
So that the hook does not vomit out of the jig during the bite or hook, it must be well fixed and correctly installed. For these purposes, the author used a needle. It needs to be driven into a tree, and then a blank of mormyshka from wire is put on this needle. How exactly the hook is inserted can be seen in the photo.
Step 3. Pouring Mormyshka
Now you need to melt the tin or lead and carefully cast the mormyshka. It happens that there is too much metal. It’s not worth worrying about this, the rest can be easily grinded on a sharpener or put away with a fingernail. When the mormyshka cools, it will be necessary to pull out the needle from it. This must be done with pliers.
As a result, a hole is formed through which the fishing line will pass while tying the mormyshka. Since the fishing line will go right through the eye of the hook, the caught fish will never leave. At the final stage, mormyshka can be polished.
The weight of such mormyshka is in the range of 2-4 grams, while its size is 0.5-0.7 cm. As for the game, in this regard, such mormyshka is not particularly noteworthy.However, when using a “sandwich” of bloodworms and boiled egg protein, it shows excellent results in winter fishing.
Similar “waves” can be made in various forms. For example, a wire can be wound on two tubes using a thin tube as an addition. Having made 5-6 turns, it will be possible to obtain a carnation of a wave-like shape.
