We present to your attention an interesting homemade, which can be a great toy for the development of mechanics in children. So, we will make an excavator from syringes.
Let's start by watching the author’s footage.
We will need:
- 5 syringes per 20 cubic meters;
- 5 syringes per 5 cubes;
- plastic clamps;
- nuts, washers and bolts with a diameter of 4 mm;
- wooden rulers;
- rail 30x10 cm;
- system from a dropper.
The first thing you need to do is make an arrow from the rail. Below are the drawings and layout.
Of the two rulers, you need to make the second half of the arrow.
We connect the boom halves with a bolt, washers and nut.
Between the rulers we put a piece of staff to give the arrow a shape.
We cut the ruler along and make two holes along the edges.
Between the resulting pieces we also glue a piece of rail.
We also make an excavator tower from a rack.
Two tower blanks are connected to the boom.
A 2 cm thick board will serve as a bed, so we cut out a round blank on which the arrow will be mounted.
On a round blank, we make grooves according to the size of the tower blanks. The tower can also be connected using iron corners. If you made cuts, then you can additionally glue the tower with hot glue.
Between the two elements of the tower we glue a piece of rail so as not to pinch the arrow when tightening.
Glue the trim line to give the required thickness.
The base can be made from a piece of board 3 cm thick. On the base we drill a hole and insert a bolt.
Let's move on to making a bucket. The blanks are presented in the photo below.
We collect the bucket with a glue gun.
We make a groove in the boom rail in which it will be possible to fix a small syringe. We fix the syringe with a plastic clamp.
We connect the boom to the bucket using a wire, which should connect the bucket ruler to the clamp.
Similarly, we connect the remaining moving places. According to the author, the places of tightening with clamps must be wrapped with a thick layer of electrical tape so as not to bend the syringe. Also, do not tighten the clamps too tight.
The load on the syringe can be reduced by attaching a rubber band for notes.
We make the rotary system with a small piece of pencil.
We fix the syringes on the other side of the board. Note that the author of the idea advises using syringes with a rubber piston, since such syringes have a much softer stroke.
Before the final connection of the syringes, they must be filled with water.
Our excavator is ready.
