DIY dumbbell rack


Hello lovers homemade !

Many of us play sports, and often this happens not in specialized places, but in home conditions, while sports equipment at this moment is scattered throughout the occupied area, through which we step over and sometimes stumble. To avoid this, one simple thing was invented a long time ago devicecalled a RACK. You can buy it without any problems at any of the sports stores, but this option is quite expensive and not everyone can afford it, so the author of this article offers us a way to make it yourself.

And now about everything in detail!

We will need it.

Tool:
- screwdriver;
- saw;
- roulette.

Materials:
- wooden beam 5 x 15 cm;
- plywood sheet 4.5 x 28 x 110 cm; -
- screws or nails.

First of all, let's start making the bottom of the rack. To do this, we saw off two bars one meter each, they will horizontally fix the vertical legs.

To make vertical legs you need to saw off 4 beams each of 55 cm.

Next, you need to combine two meter bars with each other and mark them 33 cm from edge to edge. These will be the marks for the horizontal legs of the rack.

Now we take the vertical legs and place them between two horizontal bars. See the photo for more details. Before starting fastening, you need to align the structure, and then fix it with nails or self-tapping screws. Then we check the design for strength, if there is a backlash, we additionally strengthen it.

In order for the design to be more stable, two horizontal supports must be made. We saw off two identical parts of the beam, for a better look we cut the corners. We fix on the sides at the bottom, as shown in the photo.


Now let's start making countertops.
We take plywood and cut out according to the size of the rack, while it needs to be made a little longer and wider, consider the size of the dumbbells.

Now we will produce the sides that will be attached at the edges of the finished tabletop. Cut from the bars to the size of the countertop. Fasten with screws.

In order for the dumbbells to be securely fixed on the surface of the countertop, we add two more sides. We fasten them in the middle along the countertop. The height of the sides should be chosen in accordance with the height of the dumbbells.

When the design is ready, you need to sand the surface with sandpaper. If you want, you can cover with stain or varnish.

It remains to do the simplest. We take sports equipment and place them on a rack. Dumbbells are located in the upper part, and pancakes from the bar are in the lower part, thereby freeing the working area.
