Hello everyone, according to this instruction, you can collect an interesting air gun from for yourself or your child. In the West, this type of weapon is very common, with the help of it children organize competitions, come up with various games and so on. The cannon can shoot with various shells, the most common is the potato. In principle, you can upgrade the gun for any shells, but only safe!
The shot is fired thanks to the piston, which moves thanks to the spring along the cylinder, pushing the air into the barrel. Materials for homemade you need a little, almost everything is made of plastic and plywood. No special tools are needed here either, everything can be done even at home.
Materials and tools that the author used to make the gun:

Step one. Let's start with the gun cylinder
The homemade cylinder and piston are made of. The cylinder must be so large in diameter that the piston can move freely, not with a small gap. The length of the tube should be slightly longer than the length of the piston, the piston should reach the very edge of the cylinder, thereby displacing all air from the cylinder.
At this step, we need to install an adapter on the piston, thanks to which we can install the barrel on it. The barrel is also made of a tube, but of a small diameter. We take a stopper for a pipe with a hole in the center and paste it into the pipe. Wind tape or masking tape over the cork so that it snaps tightly into the pipe. We apply glue and carefully press the cork into the pipe. At this work is over yet.
Step Two Getting to the piston
For the manufacture of the piston, we need a piece of PVC pipe, as well as sheet plastic, a plastic cutting board is quite suitable as a material. The task will be to plug the ends of the pipe. We cut out two circles with a hacksaw, and then bring them to an ideal in a vice, using a rasp. Press the plugs into the pipe and then drill holes to secure them securely.Screw the screws or screws into the holes.
Now you can install the sealing element. For these purposes, you will need two good rubber washers of suitable diameter. We drill a hole in the piston end and fasten the washers with a screw.
We cut out the windows in the piston, they need fixing the piston in the trigger. In addition, do not forget that the lighter the piston, the faster it will reach maximum speed, and the stronger the gun will shoot. The author cuts out windows using a drill. He simply drills a large number of holes, and then picks out the inside with a knife. There will be a lot of notches, they need to be ground with a rasp.
At the end, you can install the cocking handle, with which you will pull the piston. For this you need a wooden dowel and a steel rod. Drill a hole along it and install the steel bar inward. Thanks to this, the handle will be durable. Drill a hole under it in the piston and glue it carefully into place.
Step Three Trigger manufacturing
You need to make parts of the trigger device. All of them are made of sheet plastic. There is nothing complicated about this, make calculations and cut out the details with a hacksaw for metal, bring them to the ideal with files, the material is easily processed.
The author uses a mechanism from another similar gun as a basis. You can come up with your own, simpler trigger.
Step Four Shotgun frame
To make the frame, you will need sheet plastic, a piece of plywood, and also a PVC pipe. The handle is made of sheet plastic, the brackets that hold the cylinder are made of PVC pipe, and all this is attached with screws to a piece of plywood or timber.
Step Five Prepare the cylinder
First of all, you need to adjust the cylinder in length, only part of the pipe acts as a cylinder, the other part supports the piston, and also the gun handle is attached here. The first thing you need to do is to drill a hole in the cylinder through which air will flow in. It is drilled around the bottom dead center of the piston. If ready, move on.
Now you need to cut a window through which you can bring out the cocking handle. We drill holes in the right places and cut out the window.
Fasten the entire structure to the PVC brackets using screws. It is important that the screws do not come out inside the pipe; shorten them on a grinder. For reliability, it is also desirable to stick the pipe.
You will also need to cut another window, a latch will go through it, which will hold the piston until you pull the trigger. Thoroughly sandpaper the windows so that there is no chipping. Otherwise, the piston will wedge.
On the other side of the pipe, you will need to make a plug. Take a cork for a pipe with a hole and then with the help of electrical tape wind another small piece of pipe to it. Replace the plug by securing with screws. It is important to note that the plug must be held securely, since the piston spring rests on it.
Step Six Set the handle and finally assemble the gun
First of all, we will assemble a handle from PVC pipes, here you will need two pieces of pipe, as well as a corner. We assemble the handle in the form of the letter “G” and mount it on the gun, it can be glued.
That's all, now you can install the barrel, as well as the spring. Lubricate the piston well before installation, this will reduce wear and increase tightness. Install the spring, we select the elasticity experimentally. The places where the fixing screws are located can be wrapped with electrical tape for aesthetic purposes.
