First, the master took a piece of the 25th metal pipe 30 mm long.
And flattening it, a little hammer.
Then he put a plate into it and tapped it well.
Then he prepared the old bicycle knitting needles, cutting off the hats.
He made needles in the previous part.
And in this place brewed.
Then he straightened the needles at an equal distance from each other.
In advance, the master prepared another piece of metal 1.5 mm thick. width is 20 mm. length 330 mm. A hole in the center made at a distance of 15 mm from each other. The number of holes by the number of knitting needles, the author has 22 pcs.
Further, the author bends this blank in such a way that the holes remain clearly centered.
After tapping the part, hammering it into shape as in the photo.
Then puts the finished part on knitting needles.
And squeezes this part between the knitting needles with a hammer and a metal plate.
To attach the handle, I made another part that will be welded in the future to a rake. To make this part, the author took a piece of a thin-walled 25th pipe 100 mm long, made four slots and bent it onto a cone.
Further, the master measured 3 cm from the edge of each knitting needle, made marks and bent the edges of the knitting needles.
Then in this place, he will make a hole for a self-tapping screw to fix the handle.
After which the author welded the last part to the rake and that’s all, the fan rake is ready.
After painting and installing the handle, these homemade fan rakes can not be distinguished from those bought at the bazaar or in the store, but it’s much more pleasant to work with a tool made by your own hands.
