The simplest do-it-yourself welding electrode holder

Hello dear readers and the inhabitants of our site!
This article will be interesting to everyone involved in welding. In it, the author of the YouTube channel "Be Creative" will tell you how to make a simple, but convenient holder for the electrodes yourself.

For this homemade special tools are practically not needed, you can even do it at home.

Instruments, used by the author.
- Screwdriver, drills 10 mm and 5 mm
- marker
- Vise.

Materials
- Waste handle from grinder or puncher

- A bolt with two nuts M10, I would add a couple of washers

- The extended nut M10

- Short bolt M10

Manufacturing process.
First, the author removed the standard screw from the handle, then clamped it in a vise and drilled a hole with a diameter of 10 mm.

Then he clamped the welding wire between the bolt head and nut. Here, I definitely recommend adding a couple of washers, and a counter nut.

Then I inserted this simple construction into the handle and clamped it with a nut from the outside.

Now, holding the elongated nut in a vise, and marking it, drills a hole in one wall. Diameter - for the electrode you need as much as possible. Before you start drilling, I recommend to tilt the marker instead of marking, so the drill will not go to the side.

The resulting nut is screwed onto the top of the holder.

Lastly, the author makes a short bolt, inserts the electrode and presses it with a bolt. Everything, you can work!

In general, sparks and cooks!

Thanks to the author for a non-standard, but simple and reliable solution for the manufacture of such an electrode holder!
All good tools and reliable contact!

Now there are already good factory holders ... For a long time enough ... In the "forks" and corners, I do not like the fact that when 0.5 cm of the electrode remains to stick out, it needs to be picked out SOMETHING (hot). (And often, you must admit, you bring the seam to the end just to the end of the electrode). In the factory, I pressed the lever - and the cinder flew out. Instead, a new one and drove on ...
In addition, if it is very stuck (and this happens, albeit rarely), then you can simply snap off the electrode, and then, slowly, break it off.
I would replace the extended nut with copper. The cable was crimped by a terminal block. And he took the clamping bolt with the lamb. You can also brass or copper.

And instead of a plastic handle with a bolt inside (which will become hot during prolonged use), take an ebonite pipe ...
That's all the alterations ... And so - fine !!!
P.S. If you replace four letters in the word “bread,” you get “beer.”))))
This is all nonsense, familiar welders (well, and I follow their advice) on their devices throw factory arms and put either a “fork” or the 25th corner with a welded clamp, and instead of a handle they put on a piece of rubber hose. This is really simpler and more reliable not to come up with.

The meaning of the electrode holder is a quick change.
Can plastic withstand the heat?
The key will fail and do not replace the electrode. Tighten by hand, with poor contact, the thread will burn.
Thanks to the author for a non-standard, but simple and reliable solution.

Non-standard and simple, yes, but is it reliable?
